GET THEM BEFORE THEY GO ALL I CAN SAY

I don't think you'll be happy with Thermold mags. I wasn't.

So, by your logic no one will be happy with anything you weren't. Thanks for the info. Not.

I've used these a lot and have zero problems.

I'll be sure and use a different mag when I'm going into firefights.

Oh wait, the OP HAS BEEN IN FIREFIGHTS WITH THEM....

but I won't like em cause YOU don't.... Thanks again for the info.

You're welcome. Now go your way enlightened.

I'd rather seriously doubt that part. I'd liken it to the folks at LWRC; the greatest 'war fighter' gun to have never been in a gunfight, let alone a war.
Rest assured, the Thermolds I have are US made, and they are 70% failrate.
The day Thermold puts forth a magazine and submits it to any test required before issue to deplyed troops, I will eat one of these that are collecting dust in my locker. NO THERMOLD MAGAZINE IS ISSUED KIT IN THE US ARMED FORCES. NONE.
When I was in my other life, the Pmag was not around. The same people I drove boat for use them a lot now, and there are 3 mags allowed into their kit: USGI / Colt magazines, HK magazines and Pmags.
And, let's be real here; the Canadians are using the LMT for their medium squad rifle, and it runs Pmags, Pmags, or Pmags. Our KAS SR25 runs 2 mags; KAS..... and Pmags.
The drought will end, so being a person who has a little experience with these different magazines, I recommend you sit on a hot credit card, and when the drought ends and a bit of supply shows up, burn good plastic to buy good plastic.:)

I use 8 of the Thermold 20's, the only problem I have is with my Maglula loader, I have to hold it on a little tighter. I use them more than any other mags that I have. I have yet to have a failure with one, of any kind. I had read reviews on the 30's so when a kid offered to buy them from me, I sold them but he is still using them and they havent given him any problems. I have never bought any of the 10's so I do not know, but the 20's have worked like a charm for me, in my rifles or in friends and families rifles of many brands. I will still recommend them. I also have some TangoDown mags that I got for a good price. I have 11 of them right now I have 5 in my regular rotation. Not a single problem with any of them. I do not know what I do differently than other people but I dont have mag problems, no broken feed lips, no feeding problems, no issues. So I in good faith can recommend both of these brands of mags. I do have the original Pmag that came with my rifle, I have used it a couple of times and has given me no problems either.

Same here. I have used most mags and never had "failures" to speak of. I remember the old metal mags with the gray followers... than one day we all needed th green followers.... now I don't know what color follwer "they" suggest, but whatever I use seems to work.

Wheter the OP fought with them or not, I also use Thermolds and never had a problem. They say they had issues with the Canadian made ones. I never had one. I don't know. But for 10 bucks, and when nothing else is available, if you need larger normal capacity mags, buy em up.
There may come a day that you can't.
If you haven't bought any by that day, you can start paying BIG for them again.... but I can't guarantee you what color follower you will get!

1994 Clinton Ban............ CDNN........... 100 bucks for a metal mag.

I will never do business with Classic Firearms again. Too many of us got burned by their "new" AK mags that were soaked in cosmoline and full of rust. The cost of returning them was on my dime as well as no refunds for original shipping. I decided to take the time to clean them up myself and remove as much of the rust as I could. those $15 mags turned into a $25 project part before I was done.

Good luck with those 20rd thermold mags. I've had too many jams with them in other ARs to put my MOE through that hell. But, I am sitting on quite a few other high quality mags already. ;)

I'd buy the old rusty cosmoline covered AK mag over the new one any day. My rule is buy from countries who actually used them. However it was wrong to advertise them as new

LGS has 30 round PMags in stock, for 47 bucks a pop. They also had
.223 PMC for 17 bucks for a 20 round box. Gander shelves still empty on both items and Wally world's were also empty. I sure hope Cabela's comes through with my backorder.

Wow! reading these posts makes ne glad i have a honest LGS near me. Glock mags are still at $30, the way they have been. 223 PPU and PMC are $7.99. 9mm fmj $11 and 45acp $19. Prices on guns have not changed either!

Military.com had a story last week that the USMC has gone back and made the Pmags unacceptable for use. It has something to do with the new H&K Squad automatic weapon and being able to use a regular rifle mag in it. I guess the Pmags dont always work in it. This has caused Magpul to introduce another mag for the H&K. I will have to find the link.

Opinions

Again wow I respect all opinions... You really do not want to call me out on my duty and love for my country or the sacrifices we have had to make through these last years. I respect the uniform and you will too.. Anything less is unacceptable. Now if everyone read correctly never was there said the military issued them to us... Guess in saying law enforcement and military are using more I should have clarified that. Regardless of what you want to think or say I know many running with these stowed away in their assault packs due to comfortable carry size and less weight... Now you can take from that what you would like. If your stuff is not running in your weapon and running great in others then at some point in your mall ninja life you should probably take half the tacti-cool B.S. off your weapon and devote a little more time to cleaning it and maintaining it a little better. Not saying that is the issue but seems like majority people have no issues but some seem to have all the issues in the world.

Needless banter

Strange how everyone has an opinion and expect more to be followers to them. If you don't like the thermold mags or tapco fine... The more the for us... But once it goes dry stop crying over the fact of shelling out more than value for magazines later. If they don't work for you in your rifle fine. No need to even be on this thread... If this helps you in some way get more magazines and not wait for the what if or dreaded backorder ( by the way if you are keeping up with sites some are not even honoring back orders at this point and have not even taken your money) then feel free to order these magazines. If not carry on with the PMAG only craze. Guess promoting inferior brand is what sales most over confirmed use.

Proof is in confirm actions

Need more written proof to confirm thermolds are good. Thanks I cared enough to back up my claim a little more even though I am sure there are still some who will say otherwise but happy reading if you care to: Thermold AR Magazines review. Providing info, no arguments please. - THR

Again not pointing fingers but any and every magazine can give you issues but like most say....If it ain't broke don't fix it...If they are working for you like for me great...Buy them why you still can...If they are not...Well wait and hope that the smoke clears after Jan. and everyone gets their hands dirty on banning them then you will see what its like to spend recklessly on simple things. Unless you are coming to join in the desert sand or dirty ocean water in real battle no need in feeding into what Bravo and these other guys make claims on when you arent in the same field to need it...

TO FUNNY

It is sad that some can continue childish internet arguments over needless things. Sure it brings a smile to some faces that they can sit in their lounge chair and just rant and rave over who makes what better. Again not fazed and on a side note: I probably can sell the magazines but I could also sell any other companies as well... Seeing as I never once claim one over the other... I have plentiful of them all for different uses... Enjoy your new years internet fighting with yourself while others enjoy bringing in a new year with new mags at cost...

I wouldnt ever question your service or your opinions, I still have a lot of nephews serving in the Military or as Leo's as well as a little sister and brother. I wasnt trying to call anyone out, I was just really surprised to see that story on the Magpul mags. I have been told many times the Thermolds are not very good magazines and if my life depended upon them they would not be in my regular rotation, they are there mostly because they were cheap and I am waiting to wear them out, I was not trying to argue I was just stating what has worked for me, Please accept my apologies if you feel that I offended you or anyone. My mags live a pretty easy life, they never get dropped on the ground, the get pulled out and placed on my shooting table, they dont even get jostled around in a mag pouch, but it is the same way with all my mags, I do not shoot competition or do mag dumps. I have read the reviews on The High Road, and then I bought the mags.
I didnt mean to come off in any know it all way. Happy New Year and be safe!

The fight shouldn't be over which mag to use it should be over can we still use them in the coming months. Everyone take a step back and calm down, no sense in getting all huffy over something this simple. Happy New Years everyone, lets pray we can be here next year at this time doing what we love the most. Shooting our AR's.
