NY Has Tentative Deal on Gun Control: AP

Great!

Now all those carpet-bagger NYers buying land in the Poconos and upstate PA are gonna wanna bring those kinda laws with them to my home state!

So what does this mean for 8 shot revolvers btw? Would my 627 be considered an assault revolver in NY? It has a scary a compensator, a Delta Point, and not to mention a trigger.

I'm pretty sure we're screwed here on the left coast, but there is a little bit of hope. We've managed to keep what little we have left from being eroded in the past couple years(internet ammo bans, bullet button ban, etc). I hope you NYers can get this over turned.

This is an organized effert by every socialist legislator at all levels of our government, state and federal. And you'd better believe that they are there.
Watch how the media (propaganda machine) handles the end run around the constitution
Pre Nazi Germany all over again.

Just an idea for your AR mags....

I am truly sorry, angry and disgusted at the actions the NY government has taken, and I sincerely hope that we can all help mount a challenge that will roll back the idiocy that passes for legislation.

That said, an honest question. Does anyone know offhand how many .450 or .458 rounds a std. AR mag takes? I *think* that a 20 will hold 7, and a 30 takes 9 of the big bore cartridges.....

Found a reference here:
Wilson Combat | .458 SOCOM Project

Handgun manufacturer Kimber is in Yonkers, NY. Some of their 9mm and .38 Super have more than 7 round magazines.

Wonder what they'll do.

It's my understanding that NY state law requires that bills must have a three day minimum period between introduction and being voted on to allow a period for public comment.

So the governor and legislature violated the law by ramming this through.

I find these posts and statements ironic coming from people who are not NRA members or at least do not display the NRA emblem. If one does not support the NRA by being a member but they cry when they need representation??

However...Remember at the end of the movie, A Few Good Men, when Tom Cruise says to that Marine....."You don't have to wear a uniform to be a man".

Sort of the same here about whether to brag about having to post up whether a person is a NRA member or not. There are others beside the NRA who represent me...Namely my U.S. Representative, and my U.S. Senator. Any gun ban law, is going to be voted upon by these two houses, not the NRA.

Sorry but I think they wield a bit more Umph, than does the NRA. That's not saying the NRA is not a good rep, or a good organization to belong to for issues such as this, that is at hand.

The problem is the great American sportsman is now in the minority and as our numbers continue to erode so will our second amendment rights.
Can you believe the GOP is in the majority in NY and they still passed it?

I don't believe it because it's not true. They are not the majority but voted with the Dems nontheless. GOP lost control of the Senate in the last election, they have a "power sharing" deal with some "independent democrats".

It was an "emergency"

only if it has a detachable magazine and 1 "evil" feature

freedom gone forever

cannot put into words how absolutely unhappy i am with my governor, my senate and my nys assembly, they all took the oath of office to uphold the constitution of the us and they are now using my bill of rights for toilet paper, for sale 1 house in the land of liberal "sheep to the slaughter". the worst part is there is not one elected official in this state i can think of that will do anything about it. this piece of **** cuomo is going to run for president in 2016, i just hope people remember what he has desecrated in ny. i keep telling people vote! vote! vote! and all i get from the young crowd is "what good will it do?" nobody cares what i think?or it won't do no good? we have the lowest voter turn out in the country. and it shows. looking for a place to live with people who have some form of sanity? cause it ain't here in NY. last one out turn the lights out!

i dont live there but as a young person i WILL not vote for the lesser of two evils. i will vote for a Paul, even if i have to write him in lol

MR IHC, words cannot express my anger and disgust with the actions of the NY legislators and governor. I hope that their actions will be challenged, and not left to stand.

In the meantime, I am reminded of a quote from MLK: "An unjust law is no law at all." Reference here: An Unjust Law is No Law at All <– St. Augustine <– MLK Jr. « Words of the Sentient

I don't know what you guys can do in the short term, but I wish you safety and Godspeed!

Well now!, we saw how well these reps and senators did for New York did'nt we? Seems to me there needs to be a viable voice to head a campaign to challenge these illegal proceedings for these NY folks......such as the NRA. Unless, of course, you have a better idea.
