I could see the backorders taking a very long time, if ever to clear. I have about 15 on back order myself. Here is my reasoning...All of the mags that I have on backorder are "locked in" at less than $15...these things are currently going from anywhere between $40-$50 on the open market.

So...what motivation does a dealer have to fill my order upon receiving his stock? Not much when they can list them on gunbroker, or other, and get 4X what they have to give them to me for. I will be interested to see how many of the orders get outright cancelled. Hope not, but I am not holding my breath or counting on the mags I have on backorder. If they make it to my door, bonus. What do you guys think?

I havent had any problems getting my shipments. So far i've had 2 shipments come in since placing orders at least 2 weeks after the "****" that went down.

Brownells is where i placed my orders. But as of now they no longer are excepting orders. I chose Brownells because ive never had a problem with them and they never charge ur CC until the package ships. It beats trying to deal with all the scammers that have come out of the wood works since all the ****.

My LGS currently has several hundred on order and is expected delivery sometime this month. I will put my hands on a few of those when they come in also.

I am hoping that my backorder is also filled. I keep getting emails from Brownells saying this order will not be canceled.

Guess I should have ordered from Brownell's, I have been waiting longer than you and the two places I ordered from showed "in stock" when I placed my order. I am thinking that the larger the retailer the better chance you have. No knock on the small dealer, just my opinion.

CTD is most likely going to be a great example of why companies dont do this.

Its simply short term profit vs long term profit. Right now CTD taking advantage of customers. They have the legal right to do that and if thats what they wanna do more power to them. There making great profits right now. I call them short term profits because sooner or later the market will dry up. When that happens the out look for the company is not very bright. They have destroyed there long term profitability.

The same thing with Ammotogo.com I was a very loyal customer 90% of all my ammo came from ammotogo.com I will no longer do business with them because they had Federal 5.56 ammo at 2 dollars a round. They can price it at what ever they want but taking advantage of loyal customers is never bright.

Us Americans we like being treated fairly and we like a honest deal. When we feel taken advantage of we tend to be very vocal and we also tend to do something about it. In this case that something is boycotting and using other stores.

My LGS's is not gouging so much as trying to compete with each other and keep making a profit. One of the bigger local shops has started to ration off mags now too.

I've got a drawer full of new P mags and some more on backorder.

My problem is ammo. None anywhere!

Check big box retail stores online you can get lucky. The big thing is be diligent dont give up check at least once a day at different times.

Also Midwayusa and Brownells

Yesterday someone posted about Cabela's having some 5.56 in stock and a few of us placed orders. It sold out pretty quick thought so if you find it want it order it.

Also might wanna grab a phone book and look for out of the way walmart stores. I got a walmart that's not exactly local but is out in the middle of no where literally. I think there are like 30 40 houses with in 15-20 miles of it. I guess they built it thinking the area was going to be built up before the housing market went bust. This Walmart has had 9mm ammo on sale the good stuff RWS because it sat there for year.

My inside souces tell me they have 1 million on back order.

Mags on back order with midway nd Brownells. Both excellent companies.
I got in early and have confirmed BO's with both. Not worried in the least that either of those companies will cancel the orders. If they do it will be because they can not get them or the suppliers screwed them. Both have always been very Honest with any issues. I only do Busniess with a few online companies...midway, Brownells, Noveske ( they went dealer on me), Target Sports and of course direct to Smith, Ruger..etc. There are others but few that match the quality of service. Good luck

My AR-15 build folder is full of back orders :( ..... The Spikes Tactical lower (BO), SOTA Arms 5.56 upper (BO), 5 30rd P-Mags from Delta 3 Tactical (BO), 6 30rd Troy BattleMags from
Intense Tactical (BO) and then another 5 30rd Pmags from Botach Tactical (BO), so far every one of these company's has stated when they get these items from their suppliers they will send me an email about shipping and then charge my CC. So we'll see what happens:rolleyes: I did order 5 20 rounders made by Thermold from a place called Classic Firearms and I received those in about 10 days :D ..... I also have about 600 rds. of ammo coming in around the end of Jan. Now all I need are the parts that make it go BANG. ;)

I got PMAGS on backorder with Midway. What's nice is that the backorders will be fulfilled in staggered order. I already received 2 with windows. In a few weeks 2 more. A few weeks after, 2 more.

It's all good. I have enough mags on hand to keep me happy. Ammo too.

Like I said in my OP, I do have 5 20rounders so that will be a good start :D ..... but I would like to have the 30 rounders just in case things go "south", ya know what I mean?

If you need one there is one on GunBroker auction right now for a bargain price of $83.00 with minutes to go. 17 bids.

Afraid we have not seen the worst of this yet...noticed a couple of high volume sellers of mags on gunbroker have pulled down their listings. My assumption is they are waiting to see what comes out today. Prices could go through the roof (as if they have not already). Buckle up.

The situation in NYS is going to fuel the panic across the country. This panic is not over yet. BHO is to announce the recommendations of his gun control task force on Wednesday.

TO KEEP THIS M&P 15 & AR15 RELEVANT... (so we don't tick off Phil)

IMO, if you see a decent price on AR anything and:

1. You actually need it.

2. It is within your discretionary budget. By buying this, you're not taking away from any financial obligations that must be fulfilled.

Buy it. I really feel for my fellow firearms enthusiasts who are late comers to the modern sporting rifle. Increased demand & price, no supply. If you find a rifle and don't want to feel bad, just keep the price to yourself. ;)

Right after election mags got harder too find. With gun sales going crazy why are all manufactures short on mags?I am sure one maker could overlook the record sales but all of them within the same week?

The manufactures put all soon to be illegal mags. on the market. What a windfall.Bare shelves and new rules with new inventory.

They sell out of all the soon to be illegal mags.Does the NY law say old mags will be illegal in 1 yr?

New mags will be available as soon as new laws are in cement.Do you think the price will be more for less?Who said if man doesn't learn history he must repeat it?

I am just sayin, this would make a great movie scenario.
