Smith & Wesson® Withdraws from Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show®

The Mayor is a woman. She apparently wants to have her cake and eat it too. She's a member of Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns, but she's complaining about losing revenue from a show that features... guns. I guess some guns are OK, especially if they bring money into the city.

In her statement, she blames - well read it for yourself.

Harrisburg mayor: Postponement of outdoor show 'unfortunate' | PennLive.com

Anyone read the Harrisburg Mayor's comments???? Holy.....

And I thought Hitler killed himself in a bunker. Who would have thought we'd find him in drag in the middle of Pennsylvania:

"It is also unfortunate that legal gun owners and the many families who have enjoyed a long tradition of hunting... will be deprived of this major event because of a controversy caused by firearms manufacturers who profit from the sale of weapons designed for the mass killing of human beings.

"This kind of conflict within the firearms community is the result of years of polarization between the majority American sportsmen and hunters who exercise their constitutional right to bear arms and at the same time favor reasonable illegal gun controls, and a minority of NRA members who refuse to recognize the very real problem of illegal military style weaponry and the mass havoc such weapons facilitate."

Illegal?!?!?! The VERY REAL PROBLEM we have today is not guns - it is a combination of liberal policies that no longer hold people accountable for their own actions, the elimination of character and responsibility from government, the elimination of religion and morality throughout the Country and the overdosing of children and young adults on psychiatric drugs (80% of the entire world's consumotion of those drugs is right here in the US). Bread and circuses for everyone! Just like the Roman Empire (although 476 AD was not such a good year for them).

She wanted the Show to go on, but blames Second Amendment supporters for raining on her parade. She sure as heck did not have a problem profiting from the money the show brought in. What a hypocrite. And a dictator. To the mayor, the show is OK so long as it meets her own facist political views. And everything outside of her own opinion and views is "illegal".

This impresses me to no end, way to go S&W, it would be nice if more manufactures had the guts to do this.

andddddddd i see the show has been cancelled....excellent!!hopefully this will continue to happen
Hopefully it won't NEED to happen again.

As the Chinese say, "Kill the chicken to scare the monkey."

A lot of anti-gun monkeys just had a come to Darwin moment.

I am only 1 hour away from this show that I attend often. Local news is reporting this as well. We local firearm enthusiast are done with Reed. They can go pound sand before we will ever attend anything this worm puts on. Pa is a very large state. Most of Pa. between the two pisshole liberal cities of Philly and Pittsburgh are gun carrying sportsman. Its a way of life as most of us are hunters.

There can be NO COMPROMISE with accommodating this anti gun mentality.
After all, they will stand on the graves of children and use them as pawns.

Thank you, to all venders large and small who have pulled out for the right reasons. A very special thanks to SW and Ruger

I'll reserve that for when they get their act together on the back ordered mags.:D

What do you mean "get their act together"? Do you think for one second that S&W and other suppliers aren't trying to sell everything they possibly can? If they had it (no matter what it is) or could get it they would sell it to you...

Way to go S&W and Ruger for taking a stand. It isn't easy nowadays for a company to make a move like this and get it past the bean counters...big thumbs up to two of the few remaining American gun manufacturers!!:) Where are you Colt?

Even if Reed backs down and "allows" the MSR back in, people should still not return until the Mayor issues an apology.

Just like the paid exhibitors told Reeds of their displeasure, the local business should also express their displeasure with Reeds. No major show can operate without the support of local businesses.

Yes, a bunch of local businesses (hotels, motels, transportation, bars, eating establishments, etc) all benefit from big trade shows. They will also be hurt when their local politicians make the customers feel unwelcome. Those local business need to put the heat on the mayor. Tell her that she is huring their business to the tune of $10s of millions.

The mayor is a hypocrite. She wants our money but doesn't like our viewpoint or the constitituion she probably took an oath to uphold...

There are other cities where firearms owners are welcome .
