Likelyhood of magazine ban ???

Do not be confused for one minute about the Antis agenda,
with regards to passing ANY legislation restricting our rights.
Once they get something passed it will be Katie bar the door.
They will go on and on and on and on........Until we will be
sharpening sticks again to defend ourselves and hunt with.
Stay Vigilant !!!

Chuck

Thats exactly what Magpul needs to do... Leave the state of Colorado... for their anti legislation... plain and simple... one threat deserves one right back... ALL firearms and accessory companies should be doing the same thing...hit them right where it hurts... in their treasury.!!!!

I get the impression from stuff I read that a magazine or gun ban for that matter is unlikely? What does everybody think? Any good crystal balls out there?

Yes, very likely. Within one generation, we are going to see some radical changes in gun laws, most for the better. This nation is getting more urban, less rural, less hunting taking place. Number of people that own guns going down. People fed up with the slaughter, going up. Just a matter of time before it all goes down. I blame the NRA and some of it's more hard-core members.

These statements are not my opinion. They are Fact.

Fact: 59% of the burglaries in Britain, which has tough gun control laws, are “hot burglaries” which are burglaries committed while the home is occupied by the owner/renter. By contrast, the U.S., with more lenient gun control laws, has a “hot burglary” rate of only 13%.

Fact: Washington D.C. has essentially banned gun ownership since 1976 and has a murder rate of 56.9 per 100,000. Across the river in Arlington, Virginia, gun ownership is less restricted. There, the murder rate is just 1.6 per 100,000, less than three percent of the Washington, D.C. rate.

Fact: In 1982, Kennesaw, GA passed a law requiring heads of households to keep at least one firearm in the house. The residential burglary rate dropped 89% the following year.

As usual, The difference between FACTS and OPINION are wide..

And far too many people like to express their own OPINION as if they are FACTS..

I think you may be right but I do not think "most for the better". Number of people owning guns is going way up not down. Sounds like you buy the idea that the guns are the cause. If you give an inch, they will take a mile. They will come for your revolvers soon enough. Did I misunderstand your comment? If so I apologize.

Then why are you on this web site? If you think the NRA is to blame...please explain yourself. I believe the number of people owning guns is spiriling up...you can thank the present administration for that. I am one of those hard core members you mention and I value the Constitution and the bill of rights.....Kind of makes me wonder what your doing here? If the second amendment is not important to you...why are you here??????????? I also disagree that the gun laws are going to get more restrictive...they are going to try but if you believe in the Constitution and second amendment...."Not to be Infringed" means what it says. I took an Oath to protect and defend the Constitution and I plan to do just that.

Assault Weapons Ban? I shall not comply.

Universal Background Checks ( meaningless without full registration)? I shall not comply.

Magazine capacity limits? I shall not comply.

I've told my senators and my representative to fight all these, and, if they should pass, I shall not comply.

We need to tell all of our elected government officials: "I shall not comply."

Took the words right out of my mouth...I have told my Reps the same thing. Many do not seem to understand "Not to be Infringed" but they will get the message in time.

Nope. 1993 - 150 million guns. 2011 - 300+ million guns.

People fed up with the slaughter, going up.

Slaughter going down. Homicides down more than 50% from 1993 to 2011.

I blame the NRA and some of it's more hard-core members.

I blame people who sit around blaming the most effective organization fighting to preserve our Second Amendment rights in the country instead of getting involved. We've compromised before, and it's never enough. I'm done compromising.

"I shall not comply."

Perhaps we start an organization which simply states "i shall not comply"...you do realize they will label us terrorists or nutjob militia members before they label us patriots though...i, like many of the vets here, swore an oath...and i will adhere to my oath...but if the shtf, we wont be the ones everyone cheers for, or prob even get the chance to speak at a trial...hypothetically, of course...there will be no celebration for those who stand up when they come to enforce these future legislative atrocities...

...then again, ive never been big on parades...i shall not comply.

Check out the "Oathkeepers" web site...shall not comply is what they do.

BadKarmaZeroSix - We don't need to organize. Just tell everyone you know to contact their senators, representatives, state senators, state representatives, county commissions, and city councils who might be considering anti-rights legislation to tell them, "I shall not comply." Then tell everyone you know to contact everyone they know to do the same thing and so on.

I shall not comply.

TROLL MUCH ??

Step 1. AWB - "I don't own an AW so it doesn't affect me."

2. High Cap Magazine Ban - "10 shots is more then enough."

3. Expanding Background Checks - "Sounds like a good idea. I have nothing to hide."

4. Closing gun show loophole - "Gun shows are crazy anyways. Why would I need to go there?"

5. Registration - "Police say it will help solves crimes if they can trace the gun. So, they need a central database with name and serial numbers. Police only and with a court order? Sounds reasonable. Its the same as warrant and that's in the Constitution."

6. Sniper rifles - "Defining a sniper rifle? Its stupid but its just a definition."

7. 3 rounds limit for Sniper rifles - "You don't need 3 rounds anyway. One round one kill, anymore is unsporting."

8. Sniper rifle elimination - "With the accuracy of muzzleloaders today, the need for a modern firearm is antiquated.'

Still think the AWB doesn't effect you? Far fetched? Look at UK, AU, etc. Entire nations fooled into giving up their arms. Its happening here; NY, CA, DC...

I would propose to write not only your legislators but ammunition suppliers. Put pressure in states like NY and CA. If as some manufacturers claim, government contracts are a small part of their business. Their income is the private sector. If ammo manufacturers stopped the supply to those cities (police, National Guard, prison guards, etc) or increase prices on those contracts, it would put pressure on those civil services and thereby pressuring legislators. The end result would benefit the supplier as it would allow an expanded market within those cities.

The power ultimately lies with the consumer. The Sportsman Show boycott proved it. Negative press from a few people can go along way.

Their promises about not going too far if we comply are about as certain as the 16 year old boy who gazes into your beautiful 15 year old daughter and promises, "Darling, I JUST want to hold your hand."

Round limit, not ban. As a retired cop and police supply store owner (lots of years in the business) I believe it is inevitable. State by state or nationally , I believe, it will be 10-15 round. In Denver we've had a 20 round limit for years.

Enjoyed the discussion... I'll be back...

Sorry to disagree with you but for the moment at State level these laws could only be implemented in Colorado and other "Blue States" but very difficult to pass in the "Red States". That’s the result of electing anti-second amendment officials from the Left Wing in majority. It’s a shame because maybe you and your friends and family did not vote for them but the majority of your state did it, now you and other responsible gun owners have to pay for that matter. Check and Balance is the key of everything.

It is difficult, if not impossible, to comment beyond what has so eloquently already been expressed, without delving into the politics of the moment and getting banned from this forum. Never lose sight of the ultimate goal of many of those currently in power, and that is global governing; where no nation is superior to another, no economy will be greater than another and no country's citizens shall enjoy more freedom than any other. An armed populace is an unacceptable threat to this homogenization of the planet. If we allow this to happen we might as well start getting numbers tattooed on our forearms now so we don't have to stand in line later.
