Buying Ammo Online...

If you want to be paranoid worry about the rumors the Government is keeping track of bulk ammo purchases through the credit card companies. Personally though I've had three cases of 7.62x54 delivered in as many months with no problems, signatures or even ORM-D labels on the last two. I figure if being a Veteran, NRA Life Member, C&R holder, active in my church, active on several shooting or firearms related web sites and occasionally voting for Third Party candidates has not got me on some Government watch list then ordering ammo online is not going to be enough to tip the scale.

where online is everyone getting there ammo. The local stores have EMPTY SHELVES.

Usually UPS andFedEx require a signature verification for receipt of ammo. Has someone simply had a shipment of ammo left at his door with no signature required?

Also, the ammo pkg is supposed to have an ORD-M sticker plainly visible on the shipping box. It really can't be hidden from someone who knows.

I've bought ammunition and reloading supplies that required a signature. UPS or Fed-EX just drop it off if I'm not home. Really depends on where you live.

No worries. Got 1K of .40 delivered on the doorstep. Also get components delivered as well. UPS used to have difficulty transporting firearms IIRC (back in the 80s they had quite a shirnk problem) but I've not heard any problems around ammo.

I just got two packages of ammo and didn't have to sign for either. Both fedex

ORD-M means ammo and it clearly states "small arms ammunition" on the sticker. ORD-D is used for other other things.

Ive never signed for ammo shipments to my house. Ammo comes when im at work.

When i sell i write "ORMD" on the box.

IMO Justifiably paranoid... do you have any idea how many lists you are now on?
bwah hahaha

The shipper may or may not require a signature. The carrier has nothing to do with it.

The ORM-D sticker does not necessarily mean ammunition. It simply mean "Other Regulated Materials - Domestic". That can be gases, flammable solids, poisons. etc.

What he said.... and that is the fact jack...

If you don't get it... please don't buy ammo, your adding to my costs. Thank you.

bn!

Just keep the good stuff in a SAFE !!

Most robbers don't mess with stinking bullets................
they want the big dollar items.

Good luck.

If you are worried about your UPS driver, how do you anonymously buy ammo from a local dealer?
Both of mine know who I am, where I live, etc. I trust my UPS man as well as my local gun dealer.

CASH at a gunshow or store where they don't know your personal info such as name, address and license plate number.

Sometimes people are a little too paranoid. There is nothing wrong with buying online. If you dont want to use your card online just call the distributor! Why would i want to pay more somewhere else? Or drive to one store to buy a firearm and then drive to another store to buy the ammo?:rolleyes:

I get ammo and most everthing else delivered and no signature. The shooting company I deal with asks if you want an adult to sign. Say no and they drop it off with no sig at all.

My house is over a 1/4 mile off the road up a hill and I have no problem if we're not home just dropping. As our guy usually comes around 4-30PM most times we are home but if not there is a nice large car port to set it that is quite weather safe.

My guy knows what's in the boxes as he recognizes the shippers name even if they only use initials to partially conceal who they are. He usually smiles and say hey you got more ammo, enjoy yourself. :D

You will be lucky to find anyone with ammo in the most popular calbers at any of the online sites. I have bought from Cheaper than Dirt, Palmetto Armory, Sportsman Guide and Ammo to Go but I checked yesterday and all were out of the 9's, 38's, 40's, 380's and 45's etc.

I just worry about a big package of powder....... with all the bright xxxxxx and xxxxx markings all over it, just sitting out in plain view of all the people that walk by your house !!!!

Hellow.................

I call the main office in town and ask them to call before delivery but it does not always work out.

Lucky so far.

No worries...

My carrier said the warehouse had to limit his package numbers due to excessive weight on his truck. He told me 'half the dudes out your way are stocking up on ammo and reloading supplies'. I said ' I don't know what you mean.' :)

Right, so I searched to ask this question here. The context is for standard 9mm pistol ammo.

Have never bought a ammo online, but am tired of paying $17.99/50 for standard target ammo ($0.36 per round).

I am seeing prices now / today on gunbot.com as low as $0.24 per round).

My question is, what do you guys use to determine which online ammo supplier to use?

Are there 'good' companies to use?

How about ones to stay away from?

Is 'reloaded' the same as 'remanufactured'?

I see lots of different countries represented on gunbot.net; are any of these to be avoided?

I don't have my FL CWL yet, is this required in order to order ammo online?

I generally see the price /50 is higher that the price /1,000, but is there any other benefit derived from the lower unit quantity (it seems obvious to me to buy in higher volume).

Thanks in advance, and apologies if these seem like stupid questions.
