What's Your Occupation?

4 years USAF, then the next 43 years as an avionics service and installer on general aviation and corporate aircraft. Retired 3 years ago due to health issues and employment difficulties. I'm currently 71, so I guess I worked long enough.

College as physicist/accountant, USCG Sonar Tech with a minor in photography, tested entrepreneur skills as an automotive lighting importer/warehouse owner for 7 years, 20 years as a data processing equipment tech/manager (punch cards to AS/400) , and the last 13 years as an IT applications manager at a school district. 5 or 6 years to go before calling it quits.

Retired Naval Officer. Current interests include taking an environmentally healthy and balanced approach to my passion for diving, reclamation, and salvage operations.

Retired math teacher.........30yrs high school, 10yrs college. I started back when kids were respectful, PC police were non-existent, and I could sharpen pencils with my pocket knife.
Little while ago I discovered a favorite student is a forum member! (while in class, we had discussed guns and hunting many times)

David, Yes you were my favorite teacher in college. I always enjoyed our talks about guns, hunting, and the outdoors!

To add to the thread, I am a Commercial Credit Analyst for a community bank.

The card in my wallet says pipefitter but I do gas measurement work. The job title is measurement technician. I have worked as a plumber/ diesel mech/ County Deputy/ and started farming for the family @ age 5. I hope to retire in another 4 years.

Retired union pipefitter/welder. After I took early retirement at age 55 being I hold a CDL I got a job driving building supplies over a lot of NYS (Mostly East from Canadian border to just south of Newberg & west to about Binghamton ) That right there is some of the most scenic parts of the state and made for a pleasant job.

Now fully retired and living on a large lake and I just happen to have a nice legal shooting range in my back yard.

Even though I was a pipefitter for a long time after a brief time in the Navy I first became a union laborer.

FWIW I have worked part time at many things over the years two of the more memorable jobs were selling and installing speed parts at my buddy’s speed shop/garage. (Been a hot car fan all my life) I also helped out another friend at his gun shop years back at certain times of the year.

Refrigeration and HVAC tech for a supermarket chain. I had back surgery last year and off for 6 months. Now after 3 months back I injured my back on the job and am off and dealing with workman comp doctors.
My future isn't looking so good right now.
