UPS was very kind to me :)

Ok....I detect a conspiracy here. I have been swapping PMs with Bill about going to the range and I offered to let him check out the stock prior to him plunking down any cash to buy one. So just how did you know that? :D

Grover and I have been co-conspirators since we met here a year ago. But I had nothing to do with any zombie green colored furniture ending up on his Sport. :D

Funny you should mention a road trip to KS. Just the other day Grover was IMing me about him working with a buddy of his to build a shooting range on his buddy's property. So I went onto Google maps and told Grover that's it's only a 25 hr drive to get to his place from here. lol

RANGE TEST UPDATE: The cheek riser still hasn't arrived and since my reloading equipment arrives next week I figured I would "make some brass".

The new stock definitely garnered attention. The general consensus was "so ugly it was cool". More than a few people asked for contact information to try to get one. But how did it shoot?

First the con: The non-pistol grip makes operation of the safety problematic with the thumb. My thumb could reach it. Not a deal killer but inconvenient.

If I hadn't measured the length against a fully extracted normal stock I would have sworn it was short a bit. It felt short. Could be due to the changed hand position from pistol to rifle grip. Could be psychological too. I will probably add a 1" recoil pad to increase the length and see how that feels.

The Pros: I liked it and it shot great even without the cheek riser. The grip distance was much better for my hands than the pistol grips that I have. I have exactly zero buyers remorse and I can't wait for the cheek riser to arrive.

Now this was a review that I can understand. If they changed the position of the safety lever to where it pointed to the rear would that help the safety or would an Ambidextrous safety help. Although I do have rifles that you have to take your hand off of the trigger to turn off or on the safety so as you said not a deal breaker.
Because your hand is farther back than on a pistol grip, you noticing that the stock feels shorter is very believable and because of how your hand is moved anatomically I would bet that it is shorter. Great Catch!!
I really am glad to hear that the rifle shot great with the stock installed and that your shooting position overall was comfortable. Major plus and everything else seemed that it may be fixable....Now if you want to send the stock to me I would sure try it out. LOL :D
