Bloomberg ad blitz

Bloomberg wants to be a dictator with all his money. I think he will just piss people off with his "NEW YORK "Dictates and decrease support for gun bans. How New Yorkers elect him is beyond me but look at Cuomo. The last thing most in my part of the world want (the south) is little Napoleon telling us anything.I hope that is true in other parts of America. It makes me sick just to see him.

Michael Moore needs to let Bloomburg try to THIN HIM OUT with the Bloomburg NY diet plans.

Michael's DANGER is not firearms, but the BUFFET TABLE, and this will be his eventual downfall.

Do we know which 13 states the ads will be targeted in?

The spots will run in Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to CNN.

Other articles specified which races he was targeting but didn't find any in a brief search.

Last month Mr. B arrogantly boasted that he will be buying all future elections, including those where his own party doesn't kowtow to the anti gun agenda. Anderson called him out on it in the Sunday interview.. he did his usual acknowledge-with-side-step reply.

A watched a NBC news video that showed the states where the ad will be shown. Unfortunately, Ohio was included. (I found the link on another forum so you will need to google.)

i'm glad it's not fla............theres enuff trash on tv,we don't need his commy agenda..........just got over my headache from the election trash ads.

I've been making great efforts to temper perceptions of the NRA by asking people to visit the NRA website and take a look at the many safety, training and competitive programs that embody the core values and efforts of the organization. If all were thinking clearly, the NRA would be supported and looked to as a source of training for many new and existing gun owners. The callously over reaching actions of the current admin and its allies betray their true intent. There is no desire for healthy or responsible solution.

He is wasting his time(and money) in NH and maine

Don't know if anyone heard this but this is from the maig website

On March 28th, supporters across the country are joining a National Day to Demand Action to end gun violence. Get involved right now by committing to call your Senators.
An overwhelming majority of Americans support reform, but to make sure that reform is meaningful we need Congress to pass the strongest possible legislation.
Commit to making a call on March 28th and tell your Senators you Demand Action.

I know this is no suprise, just wanted to spread the word and encourage everyone to call and email their senators on march 28 to counter this.

I think it is a good idea to keep in fairly constant contact with our elected officals. I keep track of all the national legislation and all of the bills in my state. I have one senator that I remind all the time as she seems to vote against the peoples rights...so I just remind her that she lost my vote next election...if enough people do that maybe it will have some affect...maybe not.

I'm already sick of his ad in PA with a supposed hunter and self defense gun owner demanding that Senator Toomey vote for the background check bill.

Bad thing in PA- Comcast cable and internet is the main option in most of the Commonwealth. Comcast will NOT take pro-gun or pro shooting advertising, so Bloomberg can buy his message onto Comcast but the NRA or you or I cannot buy a rebuttal!

He is well on his way to buying his own oligarchy

Bloomburg is a TEXT BOOK EXAMPLE of an ABSOLUTE CONTROL FREAK.

This man is Dangerous to society in general with his delusions of grandeur.

Clint Eastwood would say the man's A LEGEND IN HIS OWN MIND.

New York needs to pay more attention to things, like getting out of debt.

This a blatant try at buying his own agenda.

Puts a whole new dimension on the saying "we are getting the best government money can buy"

Stay on it any way you can. Call out Bloomberg's intervention in letters to the editor, local papers, etc. Lots of cynical and well educated folks in most of PA.

An NRA link pointing out the irresponsible handling of the shotgun in the ad:

MILLER: Mayor Bloomberg?s irresponsible gun attack ads - Washington Times

Frank Miniter @ Forbes also has some well written "anti-pro-gun-control" pieces to"draw" from.

Hahaha. I used to teach 11 year old boy scouts how to properly handle and shoot a rifle when I worked at a scout camp. When I saw the video the first time I was wondering if I was the only one who got that... eye twitch at the way their shill was handling his shot gun.

I especially like how "MAIG is on my side" even though they were trying to ban guns just a week ago. Its kinda like how the fire department is on my side when they use napalm to put out my house fire.

Hey.. I learned to handle a gun properly at Boy Scout summer camp... and have handled them responsibly ever since.. as did my friends who learned the same way.. The highlight of the week was drawing straws to see who got to fire the instructors muzzle loader. I got the most improved award.. a mini ball to wear around my neck (proudly). Took all week to get out of prone position but qualified every other position with one target each on Friday.... He even gave me tickets for the last ten 22rnds 'cause I ran out of money. Great guy. Good memories. Hope you had a similar effect on lots of kids.

The NRA should offer to train the non gun owning actor in the video for free... 'cause that's how you create real gun safety.

They're running a commercial here supporting universal background checks.

It stars a guy with an accent that's almost southern (But not TOO southern.
They need people to be able to relate to him wherever the commercial is aired) sitting on a truck tailgate holding a shotgun.

He says how he's a gun rights supporter blah blah blah and how he believes in the right to hunt and protect his family... or something similar. He then says he supports universal background checks to keep guns away from criminals and dangerous mentally ill people.

All the while his finger is on the trigger.

Now, real supporters of gun rights wouldn't let that slip by. Gun safety is important to us and unknown to those who fear guns.

How come straw purchases are seldom mentioned? That guy who shot at firefighters before Christmas wasn't allowed to own guns.. Someone else bought them. Another recent shooting (the CO prison guy?) also is thanks to a straw purchase. How will background checks stop these?

CBS actually had a great piece on straw purchases last night.

@HereSince I hope I was that good of an impact on the scouts too! I really miss those days working at camp... there really is no job like it. I'd love to go back to doing it... maybe when I retire and have the summers again. You sound like some of the scouts we referred to as "range rats." I still remember hearing when some of those guys had earned Eagle, good stuff.

Before that though I've got a little boy who'll be ready for Tiger Cubs in a couple more years, and my little girl will be a Daisy Scout starting this fall.

You need to watch that ad a little closer @USAF385 not only is his finger on the trigger, but the breech is closed, leading me to worry that it's loaded, and he's got the gun across his lap parallel to the ground... with kids playing in the background just waiting to wander in font of that loaded gun, pointed in an unsafe direction with his finger on the trigger.

I'd like to know who Dad is planning to shoot with that gun... But then Joe Biden says randomly shooting off a shotgun in places is fine... so its probably ok.

I see that they didn't even bother....

I see that they didn't even bother with SC. They aren't going to change very many minds here with anti-gun rhetoric.:D
