So I was surprised with some cash and range gift certificates for my birthday. I had been eyeballing a beautiful Ruger Single 10 for a few months. So I used the cash and certificates to buy it.
Ended up putting about 300 rds of different brands of 22LR through it and hated it. I loved they way it felt and the trigger was quite good, but it didn't group very well (granted I was shooting off hand), but the main thing I disliked was it was extremely difficult to get rounds into the cylinder, I had to push the loading gate towards me to rotate the cylinder while loading the rounds, also ejecting 5 of the chambers was near impossible. I had to push the ejector rod against the shooting bench to get the spent shells out.
Needless to say, I wasn't happy and honestly didn't want to deal with sending it to Ruger.
So, I'm on really good terms with the Manager of the range, so I told him about the issues and asked if I could just trade it in on the M&P 45 he had. He said yes and I walked out with the new Smith.
I like it alot so far, other than it probably has the worst trigger of any of the m&p's I have owned. I'm going to try and shoot it soon, then most likely buy the apex trigger kit. I also may try to find the stock night sights that are on my Pro, I like them alot.
It is just the regular 4.5" 45 acp m&p. I'm a huge 1911 fan so I hope I enjoy the 45 M&P as much as I enjoy my M&P 9mm Pro.
