That handsome critter greatly resembles Moose, my little rescue dog. I had lived alone for fifteen years after I was widowed, then Moose moved in two years ago. He sleeps under the covers with me, but we had to wait a couple of weeks--hell, neither of us is easy!

This is a first. No other pets have shared my bed. But I'm old and he's about nine, and it suits us.

Also a rescue. Hes Rat Terrier mix ...possibly with a Jack Russel Terrier since he doesnt look like another breed

Monday Apr15 was his 1st birthday!

I serve a cat. She allows me to share her bed with her as long as I don't disturb her.

My cocker-poodle Maggie (see screen name) sleeps on her special blanket at the foot of our bed. She is out no-battery, non-plug burglar alarm. She earns her keep.
When the coyotes howl in the woods behind us, I find her sharing my pillow.

Used to let my cat "Figaro" sleep on mine till he kept trying to sleep on my face and I'd get litter box sprinkles on my pillow I was done with that

Some of us have to listen to the little lady on the subject........ and most men let them say what goes down.
I did not have any say in the matter but we have two small dogs and only one likes to get up on the bed and stays at our feet.

Tonight is her last time on the bed due to kidney failure and she will see the vet at 8:30am in the morning along with her favorite toy to keep her company.

Later.

Thinking about you and the little furry one this morning, Nevada Ed.
Sent a little prayer up for the both of you. Been there, so sorry.

The only problem I have had with a dog on the bed was the night she decided to stretch put and out of the bed I went. Blasted dog pushed me out of the bed. I showed her. I got right back into the bed. I also thought I was being smart letting her on the bed especially during winter as she warmed up the bed.. Don't know how it happened but she figured out what I was doing and waited till I got in bed first. Did I mention she pused me out of the bed one night. Oh I did. I've got a great pic of her at my mothers house asleep on the couch with her. Too bad I don't have a recording as both were snoring. Quite the duet.

They are animals. Animals do not enjoy the same rights as humans in my home, and they are not a "part of the family".

Maybe I'm a blockhead, but that's the way I am. I have never not had a dog, and all my dogs enjoyed pretty darned good lives without ever getting on the furniture. :)

I don't have a choice. I have Basset hounds, they'll bite you if you try to push them off the bed.

Prayers of comfort to all those who are saying good bye to their beloved 4-legged. It's a hard bump on the journey of life.

I marked the last section of the poll. Dog has bed on the floor right next to my side of the bed, so I get a black face attached to a cold nose in my face when it's time to rise and go feed the horses.

One cat is a snuggler, and his brother sleeps at my feet during the night. Then they bail just before daylight to go watch the action outside on the deck. As others have mentioned, on top of bedding okay, but, I don't need any more "furs" under the covers.

HAIR OF THE DOG? Help yourself, it's all over the house...mixed in with the cats' and the horses'.

I have some friends that don't let animals in the house & their boss punishes them by making them wear a suit to work.--With out a dog you can get 2 weeks out of that suit unless you get some gravy on it.

Dogs and cats are allowed but only on my wife's side! We have a California king and her side gets a little crowded with 3 little dogs and two cats, our other cat sleeps on my son's bed.

My dogs are kind enough to let me live here and share their bed.:D

Pete

YEP. That's it. I let my dog in from the patio, and before I can turn around, she's jumped on the couch - right where I was sitting. Bedtime rolls around, she jumps on the bed and lays down in front of both pillows. I have to push her out of the way to get my spot. That is her cue to start playing. And I just want to go to sleep. She is the Alpha-dog. I am just the person that pays the bills. :D

Everthing tastes better with dog hair in it! The key to dogs and cats and the furniture and beds is to match your furniture to the pets color, and the sheets and blankets to it as well.

In my house, there is a reason why we call it "fur-niture" so if you don't want to get any dog hair on you, stay standing.
