I am shocked, disgusted, and sick to my stomach...

PALADIN, would it help that sick stomach of yours if they offered that with a Pepto pink stock? :)

There are plenty of examples of some pretty decent "scout rifle" lever guns. This ain't one.

I'm curious - does this turn your stomach equally? It also is a Frankengun mix of modern and traditional:

Turnbull TAR-40 .308 Rifle
My God-those are beautiful!!!!! The Turnbull is a bit pricey at $4,995 but I'm thinking seriously about that Marlin. When you think about it, it DOES make sense-the lever gun was the original Scout Rifle after all. The collapsable stock also makes perfect sense as well-as a patrol rifle, the shortened stock would come up very easily when the wearer is wearing his vest. Man-if only that Turnbull was in .223.....

There was another posted section on this....thing...when it first came out. I, too, thought it was a joke.
Then I went to a gunshow and both saw and held one.
I shook my head and tried my best to keep from laughing as I sat it down and backed away. Most of the others who were around made comment on it, most of it could not be posted in a family-friendly forum as this.
I don't know who came up with this "answer to a question that was never asked," but whoever was involved with this is in desperate need of an intervention.
By putting this out there, Mossberg is not making a statement inasmuch as it is a cry for help.

This may have already been posted previously, but honestly don't have the patience to read through each post first:

1) What is the point?
2) An answer to a problem that didn't exist.
3) I actually thought this was a photoshopped hoax!

What? It's a traditional, historically correct zombie gun. I'm still waiting for the vampire gun and the chupacabra gun. I do think the zombie gun needs some orange. It could also use a pocket 380 with a huge scope as part of a set.
Did Red Jacket Firearms have something to do with this *******ization?

Maximumbob54;137218970 The zombie sales pitch brings in new shooters that can seek guidance and knowledge from the previous generations if we aren't busy alienating them from the sport and hobby..[/QUOTE said:
I don't want to be around anybody that is over 10 yrs. old that talks about zombies and I sure don't want them to have a gun. They don't need to be around anything more dangerous than a plastic spoon. Larry

Dang,

I can't believe a picture of a gun would bother you that much... I'd hate to see something really important come along.. :D

Just kidding... it does look like a fruitcake

I actually think it's funny enough to own. I've been keeping an eye out since I first saw them. I'd buy one if the price was right. And yes, I'd probably load it up with ridiculous tacticool accessories just to make it even more silly.

Thank you for categorizing everyone that watched/watches Zombieland, Walking Dead, and any of the rest as all being like ten year old children. By all means, continue to alienate the next generation right as they might just begin to think that some of the hype of guns being evil may just be wrong. It's about as pointless as those that talk about polished stainless or plated guns being sissy, fancy pants, or whatever.

Instead of trashing them (and I admit some guilt of this in the past) we need to be trying to steer the new shooters into the sport/hobby/collecting and at the range we need to be taking them under our wing and make sure they continue on in safety and they in turn spread the word.

And that will be how we win this war. Even if it takes all the Hello Kitty pink guns, strange looking plastic guns, ray guns, and yes even the zombie guns.

Hi.

I've been a zombie fan since I first saw Romero's Night of the Living Dead. I've seen probably at LEAST 50 different zombie flicks... from classics to re-makes to B titles to foreign. I've read The Walking Dead comics and also watch the show. It's a great "gun cleaning genre".

I'm 28, a Staff Sergeant, a former AC-130U aerial gunner, a combat veteran, a current C-5 loadmaster in the USAF Reserve, I earned the small arms expert ribbon twice (handgun and rifle), I graduated college with tops honors (summa cum laude, 4.0 GPA, Valedictorian), I'm the President of my own HVACR company, a home owner, land owner of 164 acres, and am happily married.... AND a ZOMBIE FAN!

Don't worry, I haven't cut myself on my spoon yet.

The truly sad part, some design genius is training the young upcoming shooters to believe this is what firearms are suppose to look like. Nobody will ever convince me that all that plastic serves any purpose other than to cheapen the finished product.
