Since I'm not familiar with Aguila or Fiocchi .22lr ammo, is there a site that compares foreign ammo brands and types? And what is suppressor ammo? Never knew there were so many types of ammo as I see listed [but all out of stock]. BassPro lists ammo as in store only. Does that mean they have it in stock at stores? I'd hate to make the six-hour drive to find it isn't actually in stock.

I have used Aguila and Fiocchi (9mm) with no issues. I cannot comment on the .22lr from either company, however.

I tried to do some Googling but could not find any quick charts to show how Aguila or Fiocchi compare to domestic ammo. Also from my own personal experience (hour long drive)-- highly recommend calling ahead and having someone confirm and reserve the ammo you plan to buy.

As far as the difference between "normal" and "suppressor" ammo is really saying the "suppressor" ammo is sub-sonic. While a suppressor can help reduce the noise of a gun going off, it cannot prevent the ammo from breaking the sound barrier. Sub-sonic ammo will help stay under the sound barrier and thus help prevent the "crack" sound a bullet makes. More info can be found:

Hope this helps!

I have shot the aguila hyper velocity and it is excellent ammo. Bass pro seems to only have ammo a couple times a week and there is a line before the the store opens. If you want to get some you need to get there early and hope they got a shipment. It's a gamble. The site shows all ammo they carry but may not be in stock at a store.

Just recently in the 100-yard accuracy thread, someone put Aguila ammo up against Rem. Golden Bullets and Federal. Surprisingly the Aguila shot the tightest groups... Most would have put money on the Federal ammo to be the frontrunner. I've personally never shot any but have never heard anything bad about Aguila ammo, as far as consistent cycling goes. From what I have read of other's experiences, I wouldn't have any reservations about purchasing Aguila.

i have shot both aguila and fiocchi. both excellent ammo for great prices. aguila is actually a subset of Remmington. my range sells fiocchi like hotcakes. both companies produce ammo at prices hard to beat, and quality that rivals mid-level producers.

HITMAN TIP OF THE DAY: :p
suppressor ammo is ammo rated at a slow enough speed to not hit the sound barrier. because once a round travels the speed of sound or faster - it generates its own noise. so if you want to be really-really silent, you have to not only get a suppressor, but ammo thats rated to be slower.

I've had people buy subsonic, then complain when it was as loud as regular.
When I ask if they were using a suppressor, the answer is always "Huh?"

I've used Aguila Match Rifle and SSS 60. Both excellent for their intended purposes.

That's a big negative. If the delivery is made that day you might have some..

Best thing is to catch when the website has some and ship to store for free...

I caught CCI Blazer LRs that way. Went in to see what else was on the shelf and ZERO .22LR and 9mm.
