Does anyone here own a phillips screwdriver?

Somewhere in here...and the garage..and my bedroom

Plenty of Phillips of all sizes, as well as multiples of the other cross-slot drivers - the Reed & Prince (Frearson) version. Having grown up in the shadow of the R&P factory and two parents who worked there, I was educated early on about the benefits of that particular driver and the screw-head configuration.

Henry F. Phillips (1890–1958) was a U.S. businessman from Portland, Oregon. The Phillips-head ("crosshead") screw and screwdriver are named after him.[1]

The importance of the crosshead screw design lies in its self-centering property, useful on automated production lines that use powered screwdrivers. Phillips' major contribution was in driving the crosshead concept forward to the point where it was adopted by screwmakers and automobile companies.

Me thinks that Squire Caj had a very light day today. Either that, or the BG's finally sent him around the bend.

I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I will dare to prescribe a bottle of Mr. Daniels' finest Tennessee sipping whiskey, and a good t-bone on the grill.

I have a couple dozen Phillips screwdrivers, and in sizes from #0 - #4. I also have nearly every bit adapter designed by mankind. And with the proper power drivers/drills, I can strip Phillips screw heads almost as easily as slotted heads. :D :D :D

My outright favorites are those made by Klein Tools.
