Fell in Love with the Shield

Waited a long time for mine. Have had it for about 8 months now. It is my summer carry pistol. It replaced a Glock26

Ok....ill convince ya. After ONE TRIP to an outdoor range with the gun being brand spanking new, 500 rounds later, it was THE most accurate and enjoyable pistol out of the box I have ever purchased.
Super fun to shoot, I could push a tin can fron 5-50 yards with 7-8 rounds and never miss a shot, and I'm just a weekend shooter goofing off, not a pro.
The little gun flat shoots. One thing I did when new was add a Talon grip, I think that is a must for this size gun.

Ok guys. You got me. My Nano is sold pending funds. It finds its new home tomorrow at noon. Local sale. Now all I have to do is find a Shield in 9MM. I know a shop that has a .40. But, I'm a 9 fan.

Atticaz:

Now the fun begins.

The Shield 9mm is going to take some searching to locate if you don't want to pay $100 over retail. (retail $449)

I would suggest you take advantage of free waiting lists while you search for a very hot item.

There have been some on this forum report buying for $389.

From my observation it is going to take some divine intervention to secure a Shield 9mm for less than $400 in this market.

I think you are wise holding out for a Shield 9mm.

Good Luck,

Russ

Wise holding out for a 9... yea the Shield .40S&W is ****.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!!

If you lived in NH, Shooters Outpost seems to have an endless supply of Shields in 9 for 399. Every time I go in there they have them. Too bad they don't ship

Beretta Nano sold today. Found a Shield in 9MM, here in AZ. Hopefully picking it up tonight, after work.

Quite frankly, falling in love with the Shield is kind of like falling in love with Catherine Bell from JAG, Cote de Pablo from NCIS, Grace Kelly from my generation,* or any number other such actresses. If you have to be convinced, then you are too dense for good taste. :)

LOL

*Don't forget Catherine Deneuve! Ooh-la-la

^^^ LOL. You'll learn soon enough that I am quite sarcastic. I just wanted to hear members stories, while i was hunting for a Shield. I had no clue i was gonna find one the very same day I sold my Nano. Anyways, I got my new Shield 9 home. I love love love the trigger. Once I do the trigger job, it'll be much better. I am debating on the Apex Kit. The Nano is nice. But the trigger is pretty annoying. The long, tension building pull was getting pretty old. So was the striker deactivator. Now straight out of the box, this Shield's trigger is crisp!! But I don't have to tell you guys.

Can't wait to get her out to the range.

Great you found a Shield 9mm so quickly.

I look forward to your range report.

I think the stock trigger on the Shield is great.

I must admit after the Nano trigger I was a little surprised at the short light pull on the Shield.

The Shield I found was only $450, also. I lucked out after all the price hiking I have seen. I had to do some serious driving to get it. 2 1/2 hours worth. I am sure it was well worth it. :) I love the trigger. After I do a polish job, I'm sure it'll be butter. I have an Apex trigger on the way as I am still a fan of the Glock-style trigger, eventhough Glocks aren't my cup of tea. I only got the Poly version. ($39) I did not get the sear, striker block and all that jazz. I am pretty happy with how the trigger feels, stock. (I know... I say that now...LOL)

Just got my Shield .40 and only have 50 rounds threw it. Love everything about it with one minor exception. The trigger pull seams a bit gritty to me. Is this just because its new or that's just how it is? One more question, you mentioned the Apex trigger kit, is there one for the shield or is the one for the M&P comp. universal?

Just bought and installed the poly on my MP 40, the website clearly states that the poly will not work on the Shield. If someone tries and has success with it, please let me know because after results I felt with my MP 40, I would love to put one on my Shield 40.

Are you talking about the take-up that is gritty? Mine is too. But the break is clean. I think the grittiness (someone correct me, if I'm wrong) is from the striker block.

Regarding Apex Trigger Kit, there sure is... :D Feast your eyes: https://apextactical.com/store/product-list.php?pg1-cid11.html

WELL ****!! I just noticed that the trigger I ordered says it does not work with the Shield. I am bummed.

I hear ya...as I mentioned I just put one on my MP40 and the results were amazing. I so hope they produce one for the Shield, I'm sure at some point they will, until then, we will just have to wait. When they do I will be the first to buy. LOL!:p
