I miss riding horses when I lived out in Sacramento, California when I worked at a big horse ranch for a wealthy family. They took me out on trips around the area or on the land they own.

I have a small assortment of "vehicles".

"Green" horse:

Work horse:

Just a plain 2005 Chevy work truck.

Oh I wish I had one of those. I remember when they first showed up on the race circuit. The only thing I want more than that is a Cobra Daytona coupe or better yet, one of the original 289 Cobras like this one.

This was my daily driver for 14,400 miles. Genuine Motor Scooter Co. Buddy 125cc 9hp. I got sick and didn't get back to it when I recovered.

ECS

Sent from my little slice of Heaven.

Here's my 2012 2-door 4X4 Toy. Too small to ber a big truck, too big to be small.

I included a snapshot of a rear-ender last fall when I put only 1300 miles on it. $200 90's Kia did $5300 worth of damage. Driver of the Kia was both uninsured and unlicensed. With the police report, my insurance co waived the deductible.

Kept my old 2003 Tundra 2X, only 65k and it is hardlyy broke in.

My "daily driver" is NEW . . . to me that is . . . a 2006 Toyota Solara SLE convertible. I always wanted EXACTLY this combination when they were still making them: "Absolutely Red" paint, ivory leather interior, fully loaded. When I located the car online I knew I had to drive over and check it out . . . and I drove out with it.

Funny, the car reviewers call it a "frumpy" sluggish ragtop with a really smooth ride and ample back seat and trunk room.

Heck, I've had the convertibles that would beat the crapola out of you:
1963 Galaxie 500XL w/390 + 4-speed and posi-traction rear end (6-7 mpg of the old premium high octane) back "in the day." A VERY powerful sled!!!

1965 Ivy Green Mustang GT w/4bbl. 289 + 4 speed and posi-traction. 'Nuff said!!!

1983 white Mustang GT w/4bbl. cold air induction 5.0L H.O. + 5 speed + posi-traction + TRX suspension package w/tires and wheels + plus dark red factory Recaro type high back leather seats with the "tennis racket" type front headrests. Top-of-the-line when new, but brutal to drive on a long trip!

Yep, THIS time I wanted a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride w/o body shake, rattles . . . and a trunk + Toyota reliability. Heck, the top is TRIPLE LAYERED to greatly damp the outside noise when the top is up. It is pretty darn quiet and gets 28-30mpg on the highway.

Frumpy? Girl's Car? Hardly! I finally have a comfortable convertible that, IMHO, has a drop-dead gorgeous look too, inside and out!

HUNTING TRUCK . . .

1976 GMC Jimmy, modified w/locking front hubs, 350 4WD. I'll take a photo after I wash it in a few years! LOL Until then, here's a photo from a couple of deer seasons ago at the deer camp, next to my retro 1967 Frolic 17' "Ultra Special" model camper trailer. YEP, I LIKE MY SMITH AND WESSONS FROM THIS ERA TOO!

OLD FAITHFUL . . .
I got in in '72 while in the Army. It's an original Wimbledon White 1966 Mustang w/289 + C4 automatic w/factory air and original black upholstery. I've got about 350,000 on Old Faithful, and we took our honeymoon in it in October of '73.

I've pretty much retired it today. I fire it up every once in a while but she's earned her a nice dry spot in the "stable." I've promised it to my oldest son one day. It still turns heads . . . simply one of the most beautiful car designs ever made!
