After 3 different holsters, I finally found one I really like for both open carry and conceal. goo fit and amazing looks.

That is a nice looking holster. Is it specifically for the VE?

I've picked up two holsters for my SD9VE, a paddle holster and a IWB holster, neither of which are specifically marketed for the VE.

The paddle is a Fobus GL4 marketed for the Glock 29, 30, 30SF and 39, as well as the S&W 99, Sigma Series (V only). The VE holsters and un-holsters very smoothly in this holster. $24.99 at Academy

The IWB is a Galco Kingtuk, hybrid leather/kydex, marketed for the S&W M&P Compact 9/40. Again, the VE holsters and un-holsters pretty well in this holster with just a slight drag of the front sight. This is very comfortable holster for daily carry. $49.95 at a local gun shop.

oops...sorry

The stage 3 kit was 39.95

I upgraded kydex to carbon fiber print(add 10$) and got bridle leather (add 3$) all together with shipping it cost 57.95.
Well worth it

Thanks rdf37

What's the retention like on the Fobus, does it have that "snap" like what I've seen in some video reviews with Glocks? Which keeps the holster closer to the body, the paddle or belt model?

The retention on both holsters is good, and both have a bit of a snap. The Fobus is a paddle holster and holds the weapon fairly tight to your torso...enough so that with a loose fitting shirt you could conceal it.
