They won't replace the lower it's a "firearm" and there isn't likely anything wrong with it. They will check the ejection system and make sure it's set correctly, if not they will correct it. The Ejector is mounted into the chamber block and if need be they can replace the chamber block and/or ejector arm.

Stay calm, S&W will make it right, and keep fighting the good fight!

Thank you. Will do. In carefully reading their warranty, they can elect to replace the lower at their discretion, but it must go through the FFL process like a new unit. Shows on page 32 of the manual. Yes I agree, surely the ejection system is malfunctioning. BTW, I find this forum to be one of the best I have ever seen. Others that I belong to always have smart as_ remarks from trolls and trouble makers, that seem to be tolerated by the moderators. I only see real human beings here. What a nice change :) Some forums I have just quit. It is a shame since so much knowledge can be gained from a good forum community. KUDOS to this FORUM and all the super fine folks I have met on-line thus far.
Regards, John

this is one of the best forums around...and there are the smart donkeys, but they reserve that for the lounge threads or if the communication warrants, and it is usually known that a smart donkey comment will be made by someone, and usually a disappointment if said comment is not.

back to the topic...mine ejects all over the place too...the only thing i have had trouble with is remington thunderbolts that are about 25 or 30 yrs old

Whether they fix or replace, I'm sure they'll get it cranking.

Strength to you in your battle with leukemia!

I am so impressed by you all that I just made a donation to the forum. Thank you so much. Regards, John

As you probably already know, this forum offers a wealth of knowledge and some really great people.

Hope S&W can solve your problem. As for them replacing the entire gun, I hate to say, but that is pretty unlikely. The FFL transfers involved are too costly and time consuming, so unless your gun has a major issue with the actual body of the lower itself, they likely won't replace it. I would personally recommend against a full replacement anyways because the more you mess with serial number transfers the higher your risk is for ending up with a gun you do not physically possess being registered to your name. It sounds far fetched, but I have had this happen to me and heard of it happening to a few others too.

The good news is that it is extremely unlikely that the body of the lower is responsible for the problems you are experiencing. Itsounds like and extractor arm or bolt carrier group issue. S&W has excellent troubleshooting and customer service. Short of giving you a new lower receiver, they can (and will) replace every other part on the gun that has any issue. I'm sure that when you get your gun back from S&W, it will be fully functioning. If it isn't then you can keep sending it in until it is.

I know the process of sending in a gun can be aggravating. Especially if the gun is brand new. The silver lining is that S&W will confirm that your entire gun functions, it won't cost you a thing, and S&W have even been known to throw some free stuff in with your returned gun package (extra magazines, t-shirts, etc.). S&W has outstanding customer service, as many here have said.

Be sure to let us know how everything goes for you. I hope everything works out in the end so that you can love your gun as much as the rest of us love ours :).

Excellent advice. Thank you so much. I agree, it must be the upper, no question. I can see the issues with Serial number transfers etc. Especially in a locale like mine, I cannot take any chances! I will keep everyone posted. It is all boxed up waiting for the labels. In the meantime, I am waiting to pick up the one I ordered for my son. A base unit #811033. I'll be firing that with him as soon as it gets here. What are the chances that I'll have another "lemon" :)
I highly doubt it..................It is good to know that S&W has such a strong reputation. One of the reasons why I chose this over the others. I am optimistic, and everyone here has helped me tremendously! Warm Regards, John

John,

Not to toot my own horn, but this is the greatest "in-stock ammo" thread of all time, lol.

http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-15-22/292430-official-stock-22lr-ammo-thread.html

This site GunBot find 22lr ammo in stock is an excellent source for in-stock ammo and magazines.

Here is the weapon's parts breakdown. http://smith-wessonforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=108376&d=1364433537

Scopes,
Thank you so much.
Most grateful for the information.

Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet?

Pretty close. At the time, it was called a "Golf" across the pond, but VW decided to use the french word for convertible; "Cabriolet" here in the States. Only about 400 are still known to exist in the US. VW did not use any rust proofing so most here rotted away very quickly. Found this one sitting is a yard, under a tree, for 15 years, covered in algae and moss. The conditions including the moss kinda preserved it. There is not a speck of rust inside, outside or underneath. Weird. Regards, John

I knew what it was but Dart beat me to it!

Also there is a "Notable Thread Index" Sticky at the top of these forums and inside is a gold mine of info, including all of my Video Series that I shot way back when... :) Cleaning, Breakdown, Upgrades etc!
