Drunken Vandalism, Last update(I think), go to first post, latest news on first post

Yeah, this is a case where the nut didn't fall far from the tree. Dad's got missing teeth from fighting with the police and a criminal record for assault and drug charges. Mom was a crackhead until she killed herself. Dad didn't do too good of a job raising him.

these two MUST be given extensive community service until ALL damages are settled

forget that jail garbage..tax payers DO NOT need to foot the bill for food, shelter, clothes, medical for these bums.

there is way too little discipline and respect in this country. when our we going to turn it around??

Whatever happened to the fat guys holding shotguns and sitting on horseback watching convicts working at the side of the road clearing ditches and picking up trash? Oh wait! Thats cruel and unusual punishment now. How can you rehabilitate prople who have never been habilitated in the first place??

Still happens with longer-term inmates of our Metro jail, but without the horses and shotguns--they use pickemup trucks and sidearms now. Some of the crews are all female.

And your last question is a very good one.

Personally, I think the father should be charged with aiding and abetting after the fact.

I agree. After all, unless the father went straight to the police and confessed he's just as guilty for keeping his mouth shut, as you said, aiding and abetting, possibly even impeding an investigation. Not to mention if the rec room really was between the two of them he should be charged as well. I do remember you saying that they couldnt fingerprint the room though so without a confession they are off the hook. Hopefully they are held responsible for reimbursing the cost of damage done. Sounds like he might not be in the running for father of the year.

They do that in the area of NC where I live (without horses). Mostly the inmates pick up roadside trash, no really hard work like on Cool Hand Luke. I suspect the inmates would rather go pick up trash on a nice day than sit in a cell, I believe I would.

I don't know whether prisons still have a gravel yard where they break rocks, but I suspect no.

Perhaps if prisoners were encouraged to work with people who had been the victims of crime some might develop an empathy.

I heard Warden Burl Cain say he had sex offenders (in his prison) who were born again Christians and were aware of the damage their actions had caused, tell him that they were glad they would live out their lives in prison because if released they would re-offend.

They need to bring back making little rocks out of big rocks. I bet they would get tired of being in jail then. Oh wait a minuet that's cruel and unusual punishment.

That's the thing, there's a lot of work needed to be done at the facility. There's a barn where they have dances that needs a new roof. A couple of days ago, they got 2 truckloads of sand for a sand volleball court, somebody needs to spread it. Campground and trail repair and maintenance. regraveling roads, clearing drainage ditches, etc.
There's been talk of making the two of them work off the money required for repairs. The problem is they're both undependable, pot smoking, alcoholic lay abouts. I'd hate to see the taxpayers forced to pay for their room and board but these two are just burdens on society.

That's why his Dad brought him out there in the first place. To get the boy away from the city and the negative trouble making influences.

All he actually did was to get the thug out of the city and not the city out of the thug. That as well as his former new community trashed by a punk who cares absolutely nothing for himself-his family nor anything not his.

Its a shame. If I were his father I'd turn him in hoping that maybe he'd learn a lesson. Seems harsh, but thats a lot of damage and as you said he's done it before. I had a problem in elementary school with bringing things home that weren't mine. When the talking and spanking didnt do the trick, he told me it was time for a ride to the state police station. Naturally as I would like to assume any 3rd grade kid would do, I balled my eyes out begging him not to take me to jail the entire way. We sat across the street (there was a burger king there) from the station, and he let me sit there in my grief for a couple minutes. He turned to me after an undetermined amount of time and says, "well...looks like they are not open right now. This is your last chance." He made me promised Id stop, and I did. Ill always remember that day.

Trouble is--is his kind never learn till too late. There are always exceptions-but those are rare.

Texas still has Chain Gangs and you will see around 50-70++ chained together with at least 5 officers on horseback-each armed with a shotgun, a .357 and on out-rider with all those and a sniper rifle--just in case a few decide to become Rabbits.

PS, I have seen some rehabilitate. Three come to mind-one was called "Red" because of his hair color. Red-was an avid Fisherman and lived for anything to do with fishing. When he got out of prison--he started a fish-charter business and is now pretty darn successful and has a business near Houston or Galveston.

Ramos-was another who did his time and is now a decent contributing member of the community. He loved cooking and now has a restaurant in Houston (I dont know the name of it but--its a Mexican restaurant) and he's already opened two restaurants in the area in a year of operation.

Another was a black gentleman who admitted to me of always being in trouble one way or another since he was 8. Well, he's been driving for a local bus company for about 10 years now--and has been asked to accept a promotion to supervisor--but has declined since hes making more as a driver-than he would be as a supervisor. There are success stories out there-but not as much as I would like to see.

I had two friends when i was growing up--Hans as well as Tony. Hans always was in trouble--and back in the day-he appeared before Judge Garza--who was a great Judge and person all around-as well as a great friend. The Judge decided not to send him to prison for a lengthy term--and back in the day when the military took these types--he was given a chance to join the military--or go to prison. Hans took the advice and joined the Navy. Hans recently retired as a Master Chief (I am not keen on Navy ranks but I take it he was a high-ranking NCO.

Tony--was always in trouble-=-mainly because his twin brother goaded him into it. Tony tried for years to stay away from his troubled Brother. Tony had a girlfriend who was pregnant with his kid--and all he wanted was to become a good Father. Long story short--Troy got Tony drunk one night and they both hated someone by the name of Mandy?? and Troy tried talking Tony into going and killing him-as they both hated his guts. Tony got drunk--even had Troys pistol, he came over to my house at about 2Am-my dad was still awake and let him in to see me. I was asleep but gladly had a talk with him. Tony told me Troy wanted him to go kill the guy they hated but-he figured I would talk him out of doing it as I was the only one he trusted to come to for advice.

I talked him out of it and said he should stay with me the night and sleep it off-as we had a busy day the next day (I had my own business and Tony had been working for me for about 2 months when Troy came back into his life. Tony had been doing extremely well until Troy came back around. Well, Tony went to lay down on the sofa in the living room and I went back to sleep thinking nothing more on it and expecting to wake up next morning-feed tony breakfast-and get to work. Well, im guessing at around 4am--Tony not able to sleep--left and wound up breaking into someones home while they ere there and sleeping--went into their bedroom and the male actually heard Tony grab his car keys-but Tony was gone before anything happened. He stole the car (still being very angry about what his brother wanted him to do-figured he would go on a short joy ride--but wound up meeting Troy--who gave him a couple bottle of wine--and Troy--knowing how his brother reacted when drunk--was really trying to get Tony mad enough to go kill Mandy.

Well, Tony-thankfully--didnt go look for him to kill him, but decided to drive to Corpus to get away from Troys influence. Well, Tony being blind drunk--was driving the wrong way on a local HWY--when he stopped the car--dropped his wallet out the side of the door-as well as Troys pistol, and some ID cards. Then Tony figuring the only way to bot eventually become like his brother--took his owe--as well as a person oncoming on the HWY) life by driving head-on into another car-killing that driver. This happened on the 10,000 block of Leopard Street here in CC.

Tony HAD been doing his best to stay clean--and more than proved it to me by working his behind off--with me-but his maniac twin brother--kept messing up the pond by throwing not only pebbles into it--but boulders. I still blame Troy to this day--for what his brother did-because Tony would NOT have done anything like that had he been left alone. I also blame Tony of course--but not near as much as his brother. Well--both are deceased now--Troy finally blew his brains out about 2 years after Tony died. I lost a great friend thanks to his brother-and ill never forget that.

..nor anything not his. I'd bet he ain't got a pot to p in.

I've noticed that people like that have no concept of working for something they can be proud to call their own.

Sad and true in way too many cases. I see that all the time around here. Case in point--just to go a restaurant around here-and unless you have a bathroom attendant standing in there-to keep it clean and to also discourage others from thinking of any type mischief) they will--leave Toilet paper all over the floor-stuck in toilets--hanging our of a trashcan--water running in fawcetts etc. Im at Dairy Queen right now--and just finished washing my hands after a visit in there lavatory--and ill bet that the place is a wreck already. A problem is-=-is almost nobody here cares about others property--and they trash the place out as a "normal" way of behavior.

We have an influx of renters around here and they do the same kinds of things where they live. Trash everywhere up and down the street, Junk cars and lawns that are nothing but weeds and mud.

Exact same thing here. I guess some people were raised without having any pride and decide to continue to live that way.
