Nice Pair!

I'm new here but I've been a fan of 1950's Smith & Wesson's for about forty years. I just returned from helping the family of a friend sell his gun collection. I managed to give a new home to a couple of nice guns. I know it's teasing to tell you about them without pics but I won't have time to get some images until later so here goes.

These two Smiths are consecutively numbered, 5-screw, nickel pre-27's. The numbers are S 100576 and S 100577. These sisters came in the gold boxes numbered to the guns and include the cleaning equipment and black screw driver. I'll post some images as soon as I can.

PS. I almost forgot.......these guns are NEW and unfired!!!

This is probably one of the finest "first posts" I've ever seen on this Forum. You have en exceptionally nice "pair" of valuable guns.
Any New in Box condition pre-Model 27 is a valuable gun; two with consecutive numbers adds to the value; nickle is worth a premium; numbered boxes and original tools ramp up the value considerably.

I do have a question though. Since they are consecutive guns are the fitting numbers in the yoke anywhere near similar to each other?
I have been interested in finding out how a fitting number is picked for a gun. If these fitting numbers are real close maybe its a clue. If not well maybe its employee related or something else.

Are they 6" or 6 1/2"barrels? Look like 6 1/2", but didn't see anywhere in the thread where you stated. They made both lengths, I think? A friend has a 6 1/2"nickel pre-27, so I. Know they made that length. Beautiful guns, almost unheard of to find two like that, then with boxes, tools, papers, and consecutive s.n.s? What are the odds of turning up a pair like that again? Thanks for sharing your good fortune..
