RamAK;

Nice! Did you have to change your buffer tube to get the CTR stock to fit, or did the OEM tube work fine?

I have to say, I really like the CTR stock. When you clamp it down it feels just as solid as a fixed rifle stock to me.

RamAK;

One more question - when you changed out the gas block for the low profile model, did you have to modify the gas tube, or did it work as is?

Not trying to step on anyone's toes just trying to help out

I have the CTR on my mp10 and love it Zero mods needed and when you lock the second latch in place its solid no movement

No changes needed. The factory mp10 gas block was the easier i have ever removed. then the troy goes right into place with no modifications. getting the roll pin into the troy block was a booger but all worked well.

Ram what kind of shooting are you going for and how do you like the Geissele SSA trigger. Im looking to upgrade mine over the winter i believe

I didn't modify the gas block or the rifle.

I looked around on this forum, ARFCOM & You Tube. I saw how other M&P 10 owners had used the Troy .750 low profile 2'' gas block without doing any mods.

Primary Arms had it for the lowest price delivered. They are out of stock right now. Try Gun Broker, they had the next best price. Good luck.

I haven't shot it yet. The ammo came in today from Aim. I'm test firing this week in an indoor range (30 yards max). Cant shoot at an outdoor range until January 2014. I mostly shoot from a bench. As far as the SSA, I love it. Have one on my M&P 15. Ill give you a range report on the M&P 10 as soon as I shoot it.

Sweet i want to get away from the heavy pull that is some what inconsistent feeling.

Lightweight Rifle?

Not knocking your mods, your rifle looks great with them! I'm sure they'll be perfect for your application.
However, I chose to go a different direction. I bought my M&P10 specifically because it was the lightest weight 308 AR style rifle I could find on the market. Big Bulls hide in the heavy dark timber on steep hillsides in the middle of season here in Colorado. (They do that nearly every season.) After finally finding a lightweight AR-10, I didn't feel I wanted to add any extra weight to my gun. Thus, no free-float or quadrails for me. Just put on an MOE forend. No back-up iron sights either, just the 9.9oz VX-2 Leupold 2-7x33 scope with the lightweight Nikon off-set rings. I needed to get rid of the harsh impact of the factory buttstock, so I put on a lightweight MOE stock and a softer buttpad. Wanted to redirect the sound and control muzzle rise, but add as little weight as possible, so I had the barrel threaded and installed a 2oz Manticore Nightbreak. Rifle still comes in a just under 8.5 pounds with an empty five round mag in it. Shoots sub MOA with my handloads too. Can't wait to hit the hills this Fall. This thing is going to be perfect in all that heavy timber!!! Who says you can't hunt elk with an AR??? S&W just corrected that notion! Hoorah!

Hi everyone! I finally shot the rifle. I shot 250 rds of PMC Bronze 7.62 NATO 147Grs, FMJ-BT. The rifle & ammo worked flawlessly! I shot 150rds with a PMAG & 100rds with the factory mag. I had no issues with either mags. The brass had no dings. The M&P 10 & PMC Bronze is good to go! As soon as I get some optics & a membership at an outdoor range I write an accuracy report. Take care.
