Do you really want to advertise that?

I remember a picture I saw on THR 5 or 6 years ago of a car that had one of those decorative screens across the back window of his car that said:

Licensed concealed carry permit holder

and I think it said the driver of this vehicle is armed. The screen covered the whole back window. If I knew how to find it I would but my Google-Fu is weak.

I think some people get their self worth from letting the whole world know they're armed I also think people have a desire to fit in and they display bumper stickers like that hoping for some form of validation. As in when someone walks by them and says 'Glocks Rule".

Since I've had a few bad experiences that were directly related to bumper stickers I've had on my car or on my Roll Away or logo'd clothing I've worn I quit doing it.

It may sound anti social but I try not to give you a door into my life by putting my opinions on my car or on my clothes. It makes it much easier to blend into the crowd.

+1^^^ I was a little surprised that 10mmAuto was/is a LEO. Seems they, above all, would know why this is a bad idea.

Yes, I advertise the fact that I am well trained, and carry the proper tools to do the job. My car wears a small USMC sticker and a small NRA sticker in the rear side window. If some thug wants to take on an armed Marine the invitation is always open, but then cowardly punks generally prey on the sheep and not the wolves.

I'm ready to head out the door right now and am wearing a Marine Corps ball cap and a S&W T-shirt, come get some.

My training and my tools will remain my secret...until the bad buy forces the revelation.

I have several stickers on my rear window of my old 94 pick um up truck.
They state all kinds of things
M&P is one of them I dont worry about the advertising aspect of it since the majority who see it most likely dont know what M&P stands for any way.
I also dont keep a firearm in my truck.
The others are like Maximum Motorsports Eibach Springs Shelby American and I also am not worried that my truck will be targeted for the springs or whatever because I have a sticker.

The ones I get a chuckle out of are the Obama/Biden stickers. Usually a person of color driving it every time I see one and I always want to stop um and ask um their reason for voting for the guy.

I'd like to know YOUR reason for the stickers. Especially since you say most don't know what the M&P stands for.

Because I have a big ol bare window.
Unless it is a person familiar with firearms m&p is likely unfamiliar to them

Just like most folks have no clue what AOG stands for.

There's a vehicle in my town that has the personalized plate "ARMED"

Fundamentally, we're both doing the same thing, but why advertise. His plate draws the wrong kind of attention.

That really sounds like a dare for some half-drunk, testosterone-fueled yahoo to test you. And those harebrained idiots are out there, in abundance. "Oh, a big tough armed Marine, eh?", they think (if you can call it thinking). "Well, let's see how tough you are! Here, baby, hold my beer and watch how I handle this guy." Then there's often a mess to clean up that didn't have to be made in the first place, and the antis get more reinforcement of their view that we are disasters looking for places to happen.

The woods, and streets and highways, are full of such idiots. Why ask for trouble just because you're confident you can handle it?

It's my business, and mine alone, that I'm armed at all times.

YM, as always, MV.

I do not wear or otherwise display any LOGO's that reference guns. It goes back to my thinking that conceleaed means conceleaed. I will continue to walk softly and carry the biggest stick that I can conceal, regardless of caliber or name brand.

People who tip off others (stickers, logos, clothing) as to their carry status or interest in firearms have some need to project an image. Go right ahead. Put yourself at a disadvantage.

Me, I'm going the stealth route. In confronting me, the bad guy will never know what he's up against until its too late for them.

I don't OC and never would under most circumstances, but does anyone have the stats on how many who open carry have their guns taken from them?

My only vehicle that has any sort of advertising on it is my F350 dually I use for towing my fifth wheel. It has an Autometer (gauges) and Hornblasters (train horns) stickers. But if you do something stupid you don't have to read about the horns- 153 decibels lets you know you goofed. If you do decide to make a case out of it, I guess you'll find out what's with me in the truck besides the wife and kitty cats

As a rule, the less we advertise about ourselves to strangers, the better. I do sometimes like to wear my baseball cap with a leaping dolphin on it just to unnerve people, though...

As a Police Officer how many times have you gone to a call where the caller had a gun stolen out of their car?
This is the wrong question. The right way to say it is, "How many times have you gone to a call where they had a gun stolen out of a car with a gun sticker on it?"

I'm not surprised that no one answered my previous question. The truth is that thieves aren't looking for stickers. They're looking for stuff. No one that has participated in this thread stores a gun in their car (I'll bet). So, I say again, why do you think that having a sticker means they have a gun in the car?
