Hello World,

I have what appears to be a .455 cal, 1917 revolver from a past family member. I would like to know more about it.

Could someone point me in the direction of where I should post?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Not sure how it happened. After a family member passed away, it was found in a bag. Being from NJ, I think once it was broken the individual then removed it as a potential liability. That or 60+ years of marriage and a world war found it's way to an outlet.

I'm trying to decide if the parts are of any value. I have everything, or close to it. Hardware, cylinder ect.

Or, I could make some neat folk art. I have space on a wall that would love it. But I know there has to be someone looking for a widget that isn't made anymore that I could help with.

Welcome from Wisconsin!

You broke it!

It looks like that might be a "de-militarized" weapon & someone took it home as a souvenir. I've seen the same thing on big Field Artillery pieces.

Maybe a little duct tape?, lol.

Interesting thought, I wish I could ask...

Trust me, my heart broke in more pieces than the gun when I saw it.

Let me be the first to say, "Well, there's your problem!".
