Marijuana Question

To answer your first question, I worked installing natural gas pipelines for 27 years and was drug tested regularly. The test is set up by a numbers scale. If you register a very low number the result is considered negative, allowing you to have been in the company of other smokers. A higher number is a positive reading meaning you are the smoker. Drinking large amounts of water will dilute the results but that often requires one more test which must not be diluted or the result is considered positive. For regular users pot can remain in fat cells for up to 30 days.

Its my understanding that Orange and Apple Juices do the same thing.

Now all those LE resources can be shifted from enforcing pot laws to high capacity magazines.

Colorado, you so crazy

The medical excuse is a joke for the vast majority of users. We all know it.
They have "doctors" right inside some of these stores ready willing and able to issue you a "prescription".
There was some "doctor" on the news the other day dispensing "prescriptions" for this drug @$100 a pop, cash money.:cool::cool: He's taken in over a million $'s in the past 6 months.:cool::cool: He does "interview" his "patients" for physical ailments, though the bar is very low, even hangnails qualify. Wonder how many have cancer? He also admitted that very very few people are denied a script.
I don't care either way, just be honest about your intentions and stop cloaking yourself in the pain of cancer patients.
Matter of fact, the cloak has come off, now the drug is legal in Co for anyone sick or not. At least we know what the objective has been all along. Kudo's to them.

I agree, but the real question is "Is it more harmful than tobacco?"

"Studies have shown changes in the linings of the breathing passages in marijuana smokers. But results of epidemiologic studies of marijuana and cancer risk have been inconsistent, and most recent epidemiologic studies have not found a substantial effect on cancer risk." - American Cancer Society

So? What difference does it make?
The same people could make a run on the liquor store down the street too without a card or paying the $100.

I guess we may have to take the good with the bad?
Do we give up our 2nd amendment rights because a guy kills kids in a school?
Or do we try to do away with the "bad" and keep the "good"?

I don't smoke marijuana

...be honest, people want to get stoned.

That right there is the heart of the matter. Always have, always will. Altering ones consciousness is as essential a part of the human condition as eating, drinking, breathing, copulating, procreating, singing, dancing, working, playing, or inquiring into the mysteries of the spirit, and is often tied to one or more of the above. That is why any prohibition or "war on drugs" is doomed to failure.

Another side to the story is "Hemp". A movement is going on for farmers to grow it. It's not been legal because the law can't tell it from the smoking kind! Legislation is in the works to make hemp legal too...

It "only" has an estimated 50,000 commercial uses!

There's a reason they call it "Dope".

I'll give that logic a try.

First, I don't think you "go to jail" but I'll stipulate to the dramatic effect concept.

An "open store" or "brownie bakery" doesn't subject anyone to offensive smoke. It's just like an "open store" for tobacco. I don't think tobacco addicts are baking their drug into brownies but if they did, perhaps that would be similar. It's the SMOKE that's the offending property.

A "hooka lounge" is no doubt similar to a "cigar lounge" or other place where tobacco smokers are legally allowed to congregate and smoke.

A pot smoker within the same distance from the front door of an establishment is surely in violation of the same thing that a tobacco smoker is under the same situation. Plus the pot smoker is probably in violation if he's smoking ANYwhere in public, not just within 50 feet of something.

Sgt Lumpy

So Sarge, are you trying to say that cannabis smoke is not offensive?

In reality it's hypocrisy.

The difference is that the self righteous, meddling, elitist, post menopausal soccer moms and their dope smoking puke partners LIKE Marijuana. It harkens them back to the halcyon days of their rebellious hippie youth.

Tobacco reminds them of their square fathers who they hated so much.

What difference does it make? Ask Hillary :D

Frankly, as I stated, I don't care what you do with your body. As long as it doesn't affect me negatively, go ahead, smoke pot, drink turpentine, stick a needle in your arm for all I care. ;)

Just don't LIE about what it is you're trying to achieve.

Read my post next time.

"Just don't LIE about what it is you're trying to achieve."

Are you talking about me personally or people in general?

I don't think I'll be asking Hillary a thing... and she better not ask for my vote!:D

For the 3rd time.
I'm talking about the people who claim to support these laws for medicinal purposes when they really just want pot legalized to get stoned.
I don't like deceit.

Several employers in Ohio have made it a firing offense if an employee tests positive for tobacco, citing insurance concerns. Reefer won't be any different.

They'll be handing out Bambu with voter registration cards. :D

They need to change it from "food" to "medical", or something not covered under the card.

Noticed where Tennessee may pass laws to have cannabis, I hope so.. I have a friend who is using the oil for cancer.
He doesn't like being an outlaw!
