The real money to be made out of this is not in selling of weed, but in the selling of clean urine samples. I can see that becoming the newest big growth industry in the USA.
But unlike other states, who voted on it, he's going to just do it on his own because he knows what's good for us.

I disagree with snopes because they are still not telling the entire story.

I agree with Tex Mex that it's up to the voters. I don't care much if it's legalized or not.
What does bother me are the wild claims about the benefits of cannabis and hemp--apparently that one little plant can cure disease (why, one little bud is better than any multi vitamin!), lead to energy independence and at the same time stop global warming, save the family farm, revitalize the economy and fill fed and state coffers with a budget surplus, end crime, remove stubborn stains, etc. Baloney. If it were such a miracle substance anyone who understands the economy in this country knows that big business would have gotten it legalized years ago.
Like others have said, I wish these people could be honest about why they want to legalize it and not sling so much BS.
A previous poster mentioned the old saw about being careful what you ask for. It's going to be entertaining when this all shakes out and people discover that dealing with DEA and the local constabulary will prove to be a walk in the park compared with dealing with the agency that will essentially enforce the laws that govern sales of pot when it's legal. This is an agency that without any due process whatsoever can make your life a living hell--that agency is the IRS.
They'll be wishing for the good old days in no time at all.

I just don't want to be forced to pay for other people's "personal decisions" about what to do with their bodies. I don't personally much care if they do drugs or don't want to wear a seatbelt or helmet. I just do not think I should have to pay their medical bills, their food stamps, or any other assistance.

I don't much care either. I just don't want to pay salaries, medical benefits, and retirement benefits of those who waste time enforcing such nonsense laws.

In the US, it is illegal to possess peyote.
Tex, if you get a snakebite you can apply peyote to the skin for treatment. I haven't seen any peyote here, guess I'd have to use Charcoal Powder.

The ones I'm sorry for are the 100+ people who died after eating peanuts during this past year... or the 35,000 who died from prescription drugs...
