Does anyone here drink Energy Drinks like those from Monster?

I have had this laying around for maybe 30-40 years, have no idea why I have kept it.

I drank one can only and never touched it again. In fact after drinking it I believe I could have become the "World Cart Wheel Champion"

I think this was the initial introduction to the so called energy drinks of today. How many remember this stuff?

As you can see one of them opened by itself:rolleyes:

I'll stick with my ground Chock full O' Nuts coffee made on my stove top percolator for any needed boost of energy.

Sometimes you guys make me work so hard with some of these threads.;)

Ive heard of Jolt but never had any. Also, I think its still made because I could swear ive seen it recently somewhere as a "retro drink" kind of thing.

It's the Heavenly Coffee;)
Us old guys can giggle once in awhile, not everyone understands us.:)

The Jolt is heading to the trash tomorrow.

Dont trash it--sell it on ebay...You never know......

We didn't have energy drinks when we were in college..........
I did it the old fashioned way-cigarettes and vending machine coffee.
As far as the illegal stuff-Black Mollys were the ticket back then.

Black Mollys are a little strong for studying, and a term I have not heard in nearly 40 years. The Texas truckers called them California turn-arounds, because you could take one and drive all the way to California and turn around and come back. I am pretty sure they were very strong prescription amphetamines from Mexico that came in black capsules.

But what would I know. LOL

When I was on active duty we drank GI coffee and Hershey chocolate. In college it was coffee. Energy drinks are not healthy kids will mix red bull or monster drinks with alcohol. The energy drink help the kid not feel the effects of the alcohol and they drink more.
.

As I understand It the active ingredient in the energy drinks is caffeine, and lots of it. They are not particularly good for your heart and blood pressure. Especially if you have high blood pressure. The occasional cup of coffee or a diet Pepsi is enough for me. My cardiologist does not approve of energy drinks anyway, he thinks they lead to cardiac problems.

I know a guy who likes Red Bull mixed with Grey Goose vodka. He says if you only drink two, the bull will get you. If you drink three or four, the goose will kick your a**.

Thats definitely something im keeping on my mind. Thankfully, my Dr has given me an A+ in those areas, and im not complaining but, I cant see how thats possible because of my former bad lifestyle of poor food choices.

My son got hooked on them in the military. He says the Military runs on them. I will drink about half of one 16 oz bottle if I have worked 12 hrs and need to go more.

I wish they worked on me but, the only thing that works to keep me alert, exercise.

Black Beauties, Yellow Jackets, Christmas Trees, White Crosses, yeah I never heard of any of that stuff.;)

I'll have maybe five or six monster energy drinks per month, i like the loca moca and the rehab best. When the Monster energy rep. comes in to where i work we do get free cans of new stuff from time to time. One guy at work drinks four or more a day.

I used to consume at least 2 Monsters, RedBulls or fruit punch Rockstars a night while on shift.

I stopped 3 years ago. Withdraws were tough but I haven't had one since.

I worked out, followed my diet etc but could never figure out why I couldn't get any leaner.

Once I stopped those disgusting things, it all changed.

Same with soda too. I stopped drinking that shortly after energy drinks.

I like them well enough, just not 4 a day enough. I dont have the funds for that anyway.

I think you ided my prob for me. I exercise and dont lose weight, mainly maintain or slow gain. Im about to switch to Protein drinks ill be making here--loads cheaper too.

I like the 5 hr energy drink, but just a sip. One last me 3 or 4 days. Just gives me a mild kick but that is all I want. If I drink a cup of coffee I can't even hold a screwdrive for shaking. So it has been probably 30 yrs since I have had coffee.

Oh I forgot I also like ruckpack. It is all natural and works well for me. Doesn't taste very good though but then I don't drink it for taste. It is a combat energy drink which gives 10% to military charities. Out of San Diego.

Ill have to look into this drink. I dont believe ive heard of it before?

I used to drink EAS protein shakes, but after a few days of it, they begin to taste horrible.
