How much ammo is enough if you can't get any more ammo.

Wow! I couldn't shoot as much as some of you people if all of my firearms were full auto.Call it A.D.D. if you want but a couple of hours at a range shooting different firearms is enough to scratch my itch.

My revolvers don't get shot as much because of the time spent reloading. They'll get maybe 100-150rds each. The semi's get shot until I'm out of loaded mags. That could be anywhere from 100-500rds depending on the gun.

I buy ammo by the case when the funds are available but try not to overdue it.To answer ladyT...If ammo isn't available you can never have enough.

Kudos to those of you that reload.I have no interest in reloading nor do I want one more thing to worry about should the house catch on fire. With about ten thousand rounds of different cailber ammo in a closet I could only hope that if a fire occurs it will be at night on the 4th of July.I will be calling 911 from my truck as I'm speeding towards Kansas.

You can never have too much.
Back in 1999, when the world was gonna end because of Y2K, I had a friend who, like me was mildly amused by all the panic. We both knew nothing was gonna happen, but enjoyed talking about the what-ifs. He told me in a situation where there is a breakdown of society there are two things that you need to have. If you have them you can trade for anything: Booze and ammunition.
I don't drink, so I keep a lot of the latter.:D

If you lived in New York right now you would probably want to consider starting to drink.

If I lived in New York right now I would MOVE!

Easier said than done. I live in a beautiful area in Upstate NY but the cancer of NYC and downstate is always an anchor around our necks. We are fighting the tyranny of King Cuomo tooth and nail and will continue until he and his Safe Act are abolished.

I dont know about u guys. But its not very hard for me to shoot 1K rounds in a weeks time.

Then again, im a very avid shooter. And i'm probably shooting my guns as much as most people are driving their cars. I just cant seem to get enough practice.

The component and lead pile is sufficient for ~seven more years, then there will be a Whale of A Sale on center fire rifles, 44 mag revolvers, and a bucket full of 1911s! Plan on keeping the 22 LR guns and a bath tub full of 38 spl for Sweetie.

Our house has 2 bath tubs.

My problem is I have a 35 year old son and I want to make sure he doesn't run out. I load four gauges, and 20+ centerfire cartridges for the two of us. Keeps me busy.
I don't know what my "enough" number is but I am below it.

Well depending on the circumstances would depend on my amount. If were talking SHTF, stock pile or war/defense purposes it would be different.

If we are talkinig all ammo is going away for ever never to be made any more all components and everything gone. Then I would be way more inclined to conserve ammo.

However this seems like a "if I could buy all the ammo Id need for the rest of my life with no unforseen circumstances just for pleasure/ target/ SD/ hunting purposes." Then I suppose since Im not 30 yet that I would need... 2,900,000 Just to be on the safe side.
