Shield 40 Mishap

Ok, looks like on order... that was my first revolver, bought for the pocket. Never really used it much, maybe cause it's one of the ugliest guns ever made...:) but I sold it to a friend that was hounding me for it... I love my 351c, great pocket gun or iwb-owb... also it's kinda pretty.... the lightest gun I own... and 7 shot of fury!! After that, for the pocket, I use my BG380 and another I think a 637Pro, neat little ported barrel...

I experienced the dent on one side of the casing only with Federal HST .40 cal.
The top bullet was pristine, the next to the top was the worst. The bottom couple (the first to be loaded in the mag were under less spring pressure.) were hardly noticeable. Didn't notice it until I emptied a few mags to put FMJ practice ammo in them. They weren't like that from the box. I determined that it was from hand loading my mags & the dent was caused by forcing the bullet against the one below it. The rest of the HSTs were loaded with an Uplula loader & I no longer noticed it happening. I had new mags that were very stiff & hard to load. It hasn't occurred with any other types of ammo but then again most of what I loaded after that were with using an Uplula. I have a feeling, though that HST seems to have softer cases. Gold dots don't react that way with hand loading the mags nor do Critical Duty rounds. Loading American Eagle FMJ by hand showed no or little signs of denting.

I hesitate to shoot any of the dented ones.

Ok boyz.... this looks like it!!! I just took care of the bill... looks like we may be seeing a gun ship any day now!!! I want to thank everyone that donated for James, I'd like to post a name list to publicly thank everyone, but a few asked to be anonymous... you all know who you are!!

I want to thanks each and every one of you also. I also want to thank Jack for taking the time and effort to make something like this happen. :) I cant wait to get this 9mm Shield. Its exactly what I wanted in the first place. But I certainly didn't want to wind up getting it this way. I hope this never happens to anyone again. You just don't know the feeling till you get that big shock to your hands. I'm thankful that I wasn't hurt or my Dad that was standing next to me at the time it happened. Thank all you folks out there. I hope one day something good happens to you all like this has ended for me.

Just getting impatient Mr. C. Yes it's ordered.
You are correct, it is butt ugly but that humpback will go right in my pocket.
It's ugly and beautiful at the same time. :)

I'm in love with my M&P's, I just can't stop staring at them they are so gorgeous! Gotta have something ugly to look at sometimes.

I know brother, I will in a NY second.... but.... do you have one on order or are you waiting on a repair...

I swear I take something out of the vault every nite and every morning. I'm always checking something out, if nothing else, just to fondle a little bit. Tonite, it's the J-frames.... I have several more, 60's, 640, 36's... one of these days, I'm gonna do some family pictures...

VERY, Very nice!!
The lock is not an issue as it will be coming off when I get it.
Actually, if I haven't mentioned, I have the plugs coming and both .40's will be TS-less in the next few days.

Nice guns Turbo. I wish I had some more revolvers. I just have the 66 357mag in a revolver. Ginzo didn't you say your ordered that gun and paid last summer?? If so that's just unexceptionable.

Ordered a 638 from LGS/pawn shop about 6 weeks ago, no cash involved. He treats me like gold, same guy I always use. (But the cash is stashed)!!!! Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..............
This will be my 1st wheel gun.

So when I get my new 9mm Shield I have about 500 rounds of Winchester White Box 147gr flat nose ammo. Is it ok to shoot these round out of the shield or should I stick with 115gr ammo? I aquired this ammo through a friend from a pallet of FBI practice ammo. I got it for $100 for 500 rounds about 4yrs ago. I have shot a box or 2 through my FS9mm M&P with no issues. Also do you guys use Hornady Critical Defense in your shield? I use it also in my FS9 with no issues.

I am thinking I will be shooting my 180gr 40 s&w ammo in my Hi Points after hearing the discussion about shield 40. I am not sure if the 135gr corbon and federal I have would be good in a shield also. Have you tried any of the 135gr in your carbine. Is there a prefered ammo you use in your carbine HP or JHP. Thanks

Jack do you know if Smith took the money off your card yet? Just curious. No one ever answered me about the 147gr FMJ rounds for the 9mm Shield. Anyone shoot any of it out of there Shield?

I don't have a Shield, but all of my 9mm ammo is 147gr. It is not +P and the 147gr doesn't make it so. Therefore, it should shoot fine in the Shield.
