Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia is retiring after his term ends this year. There was a lengthy slate of hopefuls running for the republican nomination for that seat. All the republicans were pretty staunch on the 2nd Amendment. There will be a runoff between current HofR member Jack Kingston and political newcomer David Perdue. Kingston has an A+ NRA rating during his House tenure, and Perdue (cousin of former Gov. Perdue) has a good rating based on the questionnaire sent out by NRA.

Conversely, democrat challenger Michelle Nunn, daughter of former Senator Sam Nunn, isn't such a good bet for 2nd Amendment supporters. At a fundraiser hosted by Michelle Obama in Washington last fall, Ms. Obama listed Ms Nunn as one of the female Senatorial candidates that was crucial to her husband's success in getting his agenda through. She specifically mentioned passage of gun control legislation. Ms Nunn was in attendance at the fundraiser.

Hopefully, the fact that it is an "off-year" election, and the broad appeal "electability" of either of the republican candidates will result in this particular Senate seat remaining in the 2nd Amendment friendly column.

Just an item of interest. Saxby was my roommate in college for one year at Louisiana Tech. Ya'll got one wild man (or used to be) for a Senator from the Peach State.

No kidding??? Lol... big plus in my book. I prefer normal folks to represent me.:D

Jack Kingston is the real deal, a person who believes in the Constitution. I've known him and called him friend for years, and think he'll make an awesome Senator.

Michelle Nunn? All I can say si Michelle Nunn is no Sam Nunn...one of only two Democrats I've ever voted for.

Good luck to you guys in Ga.

We have a runoff election for the Republic Senator candidate in Ms tomorrow between Chad Cochran and Chris McDaniel.

Read where Cochran accepted 250,000 dollars from Mayor Bloomberg.

Know who I am going to vote for.
