Old tractor guys

Old tractor guys take a look at this. I saw it sitting in a field of old tractors the other day up in Utah.
They had a series of pretty nasty no trespassing signs so this was as close as I could get.
I think I know what it is maybe, and that long fuel tank is fairly unusual.

How about an old John Deere? And I misspoke on where these guys are located.
Sometimes when I'm up in the four corners, I forget where I am.
These tractors can be seen in Dove Creek, CO.
Dove Creek is well known for growing great pinto beans.

The one in the front looks like a D, the one in the back looks like either an R or 80.

I think it would be hard to find anyone in this rural part of Wisconsin that wouldn't immediately recognize the sound of a JD "B" at work in the fields - the sound seems to carry forever and you can count the RPM's. Putt - putt - putt

I grew up owning old Chevy trucks. Someday I'll have a flatbed.

I'm into international harvester tractors.

Personally, I'm an Allis Chalmers fan. We've got a few of 'em here in our valley, but unfortunately, I don't own one. Would eventually like to pick one up and restore it.

Love those Allis Chalmers tractors, too. My Dad spent some time on the assembly lines in the early 1950's in West Allis, WI building A/C tractors. I believe he worked mostly on the "CA" model, and that was always his favorite. It was a great period for the tractor industry and new technology was arriving in leaps and bounds. I think the CA model was one of the first to be able to adjust the track width of the rear wheels without blocking up the tractor....very popular feature.

I had a uncle and cousin that worked there too. We had one just like in the picture but with the front wheels spread out. I recall we had it in the late 40`s and dad bought it used. Think he sold it around 1980`s. Also had a ford.

Looks like a 6cyl which would eliminate J-D or Fordson I believe.

My grandpa had a model "M" John Deere that I'm pretty sure was the first thing all of us kids drove. Driving that tractor was no doubt the enticement to cultivate his shelter belt. I have a picture of one behind my desk just to remind me of those times. If circumstances were right, maybe I'd pick one up then when I retire, take the time to restore it. Probably nothing more than a pipedream but it helps bring back some good memories

I love old tractors. This is my 1947 Ford 8N that I restored. The work is nearly complete except for some minor detailing and headlights. She still has the original 6 volt system and the not too often seen bug catcher air intake.
