Instead of ammo I'm switching to Bourbon.

I've now decided to start collecting Bourbon. To heck with ammo.

I'm going for both. What bourbons are you after? Luckily a buddy bought me a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle before it got stupid expensive. I'm stalking a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, it is supposed to be released at one liquor store in my area in November.

I like Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel. Can't seem to hoard it though...it just keeps emptying. Perhaps evaporation?

Before the day that was supposed to kill us all, 1 January, 2000, better known as Y2K I had a lot of conversations with a friend of mine who collected a few guns. He had stocked up on 9mm, .308 and .223 rounds. I told him NOTHING was going to happen, and was of course right. He wasn't really all that concerned, was just having fun with it.:D But he did share a tidbit of wisdom I'll never forget. He said if the SHTF the two best things to have are booze and ammo. You can trade either for almost anything.

I don't drink, so I've got plenty of ammo.

Yes, I think booze and ammo will trump gold and silver for at least a little while if our currency ever collapses. Now where to store all that Wild Turkey....

I would not call a 59 caddy "simpler tastes"

I'll take a pic of my "collection". It's more of a accumulation of alcohol

I was in Vegas...the end of May.
At the MGM. at the WHISKEY DOWN, a double "Knob Creek" & soda.. (1)mind you
Price...●● $ 26.50

When I got home, I switched to Vodka ......to forget.

@ladyT, just don't be mix'n the bourbon and ammo use at the same time! :)

Serves ya right, mixing soda with Knob Creek. Drink it right out of the bottle.

I once wrote to the George Dickel website with our Dickel recipe for camping.

Light a nice campfire
Open a bottle of George Dickel
Throw the cap in the fire (won't be needing that anymore)
Pass and repeat
