I discovered this week that my local supply for bullets has gone out of business. I've never ordered bullets on line so I'm looking for some recommendations.

Specifically I'll be looking for .40 S&W and 9mm.

Hmm, I think I've seen them at Midsouth Shooters Supply. Also, try Graf's. Their shipping is $6.95 flat rate for entire order.

Also, Selway Armory has .40 cal bullets.

It would help to know what kind you load....plated, jacketed, cast, etc?

Good point . . . either FMJ's or JHP's. I have been buying 180 grain X-Treme copper plated FMJ's in .40 S&W from the local shop, but I've used Berry's Bullets and Remington.

I'm not real picky other than I only shoot 180 grain in .40 and 115 grain in 9mm.

Rocky Mountain Reloading and Extreme Bullets both include the shipping in the price of the bullets, which does reduce the cost compared to some other online sources. Another big plus for Extreme is that they'll offer discounts ranging from 10-17% on occasion.

I've dealt with them often they always seem to have what I need and are fast on delivery's shipping charges reasonable.
Just before Christmas an order came in with one pack of 100 9 mm's fell out of the box , the corner was damaged. I contacted them and they sent me a replacement free of charge.
I filed a claim with USPS before I contacted the shipper I tried to disregard the claim but I got a check from them for 26.00 not cashing it just to be safe

I use these people. Good price and they shoot nice. I prefer the copper jacketed.

X-Treme Bullets the finest hard-cast bullets and plated bullets money can buy

I thought I would try them, based on the suggestion. The prices are right, but do they make them to order, or have to go mine the copper?

I only ask, because I ordered them six (6) days ago and my order is still "processing", and they don't answer EMails, apparently.

When I order from Missouri Bullet Company, they get delivered to my door in 2 days.

I've never had a problem with them, I ordered some last Monday and got them on Wednesday. Never had to email them so I can't comment on how quickly they respond. I'm thinking there is some kind of "glitch" in the order. You might try calling them. Maybe they use the same software as Target.

Extreme is currently busy enough that you can expect a delay of up to 10 days for your order to ship. While that can be a problem if you want bullets right now on the plus side of the equation they don't withdraw any fund from your bank account until AFTER your order has shipped.

Considering the cost and quality I don't mind the delay, however I do make sure to re-order well before the point where I actually need bullets.

I will wait then. Thanks.

Figured I wasn't dealing with anyone from Mensa, after I saw their "Weekly Special". I'll make it easy on everyone and just circle the areas of the ad that got me shaking my head.

That sort of thing happens all the time - and when you have to edit stuff like that it helps if you read it backwards as that forces your brain to process each word individually and you are more likely to catch mistakes.

I spent a few years doing graphic arts/typesetting and generally I was doing the layup and a gal in the office was doing the proofing and I while I did make an occasional mistake I used automated text tools (not autocorrect) to populate frequently used items - but in one case - when the copy was supposed to read "Great Sandwiches" - I purposely put in "Great Sand Witches" and it got past her and I had to show it to her and fix it (or maybe I printed it for her to proof and fixed it before I even had her proof it - I don't quite recall).

In the case of an advertisement for a retail store - it is entirely possible that the ad is laid out by a third party contracted to produce the ads - though I am not sure which would be worse - an in house ad for a such a company that misses that error - or a company whose only job is produce ads making the mistake.

Oh I get it. I do.
The funny part is that I notified them of the typo on their site, on June 10th (now 7 days ago), and they still haven't fixed it (nor have they taken the full metal jacket .223 ammo out of the "plated bullets" section). Maybe they're just too busy. :o
