You need good and high snake boots in their territory.

I found it, but I'll let others play for a while.

Found him. Looks a lot like the one I almost stepped on in my garage a few years back (barefooted, too!!!). After another one in my garage about a month later, I cleared out all the brush etc up close to my house and now I keep it cleaned out.

found it. it is lighter colored than the ones around here. a few years back I was sitting on my favorite log squirrel hunting and kept hearing something rustling in the leaves near my feet. after a few minutes it stuck it's head up thru the leaves. eased the old .22 over and put it to sleep and went to the truck. we had had freezing temps but it had gotten back up in the 50s so he came out to hunt I guess. lee

It's there alright but I doubt if many would see it in time to avoid stepping on it . All the more reason to be very careful when in snake territory. If we had Copperheads here I'd wear snake proof boots.

I can't tell which end is which. I sure would not be looking that hard if I was walking through there.
That's why I don't like snakes.

Looks to me like the head is towards the left side of the picture.

Can't find it. Got plenty here in WV, seen some bigguns, most killed by cars on the roads by our house, and, no, I'm NOT going under the house to change the filter in the summer!
