Price check on a 520 online

On my Georgia Online Gun site someone just listed an almost as new 520 with box and Docs for $600. I wasn't even familiar with this gun. Did some quick research and it's a really cool gun. My funds are depleted due to silencer host purchases but it looks like a neat Smith for $600?

PS!!!!! It's the newer L Frame. Big difference. Sorry, I added this after comments had been made.

If as described that would be a very good price. If you look at it you should know the grip will NOT be numbered to the gun. That's normal or to be expected. Any older P&R N-frame in decent condition should be worth at least $600?

There was an N frame SB 1980 6 shot Model 520 with fixed sites as well as a Round butt L frame 7 shot IL 2005 Model 520 with target sites...Both were .357 Magnum though.

Strange they used the same Model number on two totally different guns as it causes confusion...

I have the newer target sighted, titanium cylinder with composite barrel Model 520. It is a tack driver! It has a permanent place in my collection and I shoot it regularly. I mostly shoot my home cast wadcutters at somewhat over target velocity in .38 Special cases. It is a superbly performing piece. THIS is why I like mine just fine, thank you! Both targets shot standing at 25 yards:





Frankly, I think that it is rather pretty!

I had one and liked it.
I think $600 almost new with box is a good price, not a steal.
They are nice shooters, and pretty too.

I have the NYSP issued but never delivered N frame model 520; it was manufactured in 1979, box, tools grips, label to nysp and paid $1000.
