haven't noticed any of the usual postings about great guns found at Tulsa last weekend. didn't anyone find anything, or just not talking? maybe the show was a downer? enquiring minds want to know.

Walked that whole show with one goal in mind. Find some .44 special brass. Not one PC to be found. Did talk to a guy who had some at home though. May have scored some after all. Busy show though. I worked security Saturday there.

My oldest son read on the AR 15 board that it was a downer. I guess it is following the trend of the local shows. Not sure when I will do another one. Last 2-3 haven't been able to sell enough pieces/parts/junk to cover the table. Everyone is like jbull looking for one or two items at best.

I went and had an exceptional weekend. My 16 year grandson went down with me and my son came over from Alabama to meet us. I thought there was a little smaller crowd, but I saw a lot of money changing hands. It's a little difficult for me to buy revolvers being I'm out of state so I try not to get to involved looking at nice S&Ws. However, I also am a .22 Winchester rifle nut and nearly always find something there I really "need."

I got a really nice model 55 Winchester which leaves me only a couple of single shot models I don't have. I also went a little overboard on an Austrian FN/FAL that I really couldn't justify except I wanted it.

I always meet up with some Gunbroker friends and we go out to supper on Saturday night and swap tales. This year we ate at a resturant called Spudder's and had excellent food. Surf and Turf.

I go to Tulsa at least once every year and I don't think there's much chance of it dying out any time soon.

New Camp Knife - BHK Muk

I picked up a few smalls in Tulsa last weekend. Strange how I had to go 850 miles to Tulsa to meet a knife maker just 100 miles north of me. I met Dan Coppins from Battle Horse Knives, A great guy who's blades are simple rugged tools, most are made from O1. I just had to have the blasted and blued Nessmuk style knife on his table.

I made my first trip to Tulsa this year, so I can't say how it compares to past shows, but I will say that I really enjoyed it. Of course, I'm used to the small local shows where you can really look over each table in a few hours. I came home with a nice 5-Screw Pre-Model 18 and a nice 6" Model 28-2 with box. I paid $750 each and felt that it was $50 to $100 more than I should have, but I'll be danged if I was going to make the 1000 mile trip one-way and come back with nothing!!! There were lots more that I would have loved to bring home if money wasn't an issue. I felt that for the most part, things were priced right up there, but would I go back? Absolutely.

Last year my dad and I had intended to attend but a sudden health issue forced a change of plans. I had made arrangements with a local FFL holder for a possible transfer but was a little nervous leaving cash in Oklahoma with hopes a handgun would arrive in Kansas to the FFL holder.

Wundudnee wrote, "It's a little difficult for me to buy revolvers being I'm out of state." I understand this statement.

I don't understand how 1891singleshot "came home" with a handgun - unless they mean it was shipped and transferred to a FFL holder in their home state or perhaps there was a FFL holder from their state at the show?

In the example of 1891singleshot, could a handgun purchased at the show in Oklahoma by someone residing outside Oklahoma be transferred to another FFL holder at the show from the home state of the purchaser allowing the purchaser to take possession directly in Oklahoma?

I did buy an early baby chief at the Missouri Valley Collector's show once. I did just as you mentioned, paid the Missouri dealer then he transfered it to a Ks. dealer, then to me. I'm still not convinced that's right. I have been offered sales at Tulsa from private sellers, but as I didn't know them and they didn't know me I declined.

I don't want to take that chance, therefore I try to force myself to not look at all the nice S&Ws.

I went both days. Spent over 5hrs walking the whole show on Sat & another 3hrs+ on Sun. Saturday was pretty busy but I did notice there wasn't the typical crazy long lines to buy tickets (I pre-purchased mine this year.) when I got there a little before 10AM. The isles seemed a little wider than in past years, not as tight & crowded. Still had to park in the old horse racing track's infield though. Picked up a M25-13 late on Sunday that I really like. All & all a fun time! Now if my blisters will just heal up! :p

Beautiful knife! What is the purpose of the ring/loop-strap that appears to be connected to the belt loop on the sheath?

It's a dangler sheath, it can be worn normally or dangled from the secondary loop. The dangler is very comfortable, as it almost always swings out of the way when sitting rather than getting pressed into my hip.

In my case, I do have an FFL, so it's not a problem for me.
