Arizona has an almost identical law and it has worked out well. The ccw still offers additional benefits to attract people to getting one. Hope it goes through for you guys!
 
I like to call that bill "The Arizona/Wyoming Bill". We've had it for quite awhile & no problems with it.
 
Sounds like the basic "constitutional carry" approach, basically a statutory application of the right to keep and bear arms with limitations only on prohibited persons (convicted felons, fugitives, drug addicts, mental incompetents, etc) and respecting individual property rights (no carry on my property without my permission).

Just about as good as it can get.
 
Great reading Bill, and our new Gov Elect did state that he would pass any Pro-Carry bills that made it to his desk... But I don't know if enough Pro 2A representatives got elected to pass it through the 'House'.
 
Good luck tx.Here in tn they talked about a similar law last year .Ended up with a watered down version but it still loosened up the laws.Since I travel to west tx a couple times a year,I would like to see open carry loosened up some

Likely would not help you in traveling to Texas. Will cover TX residents Id assume although I have not read it just seems like the logical way it would be.

Or maybe a snowball effect. No one predicted Shall Issue sweeping the country, but it did. Tennessee had among the most draconian carry restrictions, but once a handful of states started to adopt Shall Issue we did too.

I think constitutional carry is possible. When Illinoise started handing out carry permits it proved that anything is possible. ;)
 
Licensed open carry probably. This is a long shot. There are many important issues that need to be dealt with in the next session and I'm not convinced the leadership has the will to expend the political capital it would take to pull it off. The people of the state are conservative. Every major paper in the state is far left leaning. The blood will flow in the street articles are already written and being held for the opportune moment.

Medical pot has a better chance of passing in my opinion. I do so hope I'm wrong.

Well, here in Washington we have open carry, medical pot, recreational pot, and on Thursday the 4th, we also have background checks for every gun transfer. I think I'm going to go out and find a flamingo that I can use for a croquet bat. :eek: (I really don't understand, seems like the inmates are running this place)
 
So many people carry in their car here it may gain traction with people that would surprise most on this site. I see guns in at least half the cars that come into my shop that are out in the open and I am sure some are in glove boxes ,consoles, etc., that I don't see. Most of my customers would call themselves conservatives I am sure.

Yeah. I would not be surprised if half or more of the cars in Tennessee have a loaded gun in the glovebox. It used to be that a carry permit was required to have a loaded handgun in the car, but just recently it became law that no permit is required. The bill passed without much anti-gun hysteria or noise about it. Probably most folks don't even know...

I think loosening up carry restrictions has real potential and more broad support than most any other pro-gun issue of the day. On the flip side, I think the tightening of purchase restrictions is likely. I believe that Bloomberg and others will build on the recent success in Washington.

I'm not familiar with your laws , but is there any possible way to change the people governing you country?

NEither in my country to....but it do nt means you cannot c.c in some case......

Now is the time to start planning a visit to Austin to support HB195 and to start talking it up with your local House and Senate rep.
