I was in Cabela's in Scarborough Maine yesterday. They had some 22 lr, particularly CCI standard velocity that I shoot in my gallery league. They have a 2 box limit and no bricks. I bought 2 50 round boxes for me and 2 for my wife because it was better than nothing. As I was cashing out, one of the clerks happened to mention that he had herd that Kittery Trading Post had 22 ammo with no limit. I had to go by there on my way home so, without any expectations, I stopped in. They had all kinds of 22's. In one isle they had three small pallets. One with CCI standard, one CCI high velocity and one of Federal target. Plus they had individual boxes of just about everything else. No limit on anything. One of the workers said they have had it for about three weeks. Now for the bad news. $49.99 for a 500 round brick of CCI standard velocity! At least Jesse James had the common decency to wear a mask when he robbed people!

I think that's about right, last year I paid 27.99 for the 325 rd CCI SV. they are hard to find, the shops around here haven't had CCI in well over a year. Have you tried the American Eagle, I like them better than the CCI SV.

They must have just pulled the restriction. 2 weeks ago KTP had a 3 box or 1 brick limit.

Ha! Gotta love it.

I'm a Mainer who has been working a contract in Cape Cod, Mass for the past few months. Can't carry or shoot there, of course, due to restrictions that protect the nanny state and its denizens. I was amazed to find a sporting goods store in Orleans, Mass that actually sells guns and ammunition. They had Federal 325-round bricks for $22.00. Looked to be at least a dozen bricks on the shelves. The shop is "Goose Hummock" on route 6A, so if you are a resident of the Commonwealth, have at it.

"Wow," I said. "Can I buy two?" The clerk said only one per customer per day. OK, I could live with that. Then she asked to see my Massachusetts firearms identification card. That was the end of that deal.

During my military career I was trusted with the custody of 4 nuclear weapons, was a member of the Navy's Personnel Reliability Program, had special security access I still cannot speak about, and I am a certified NRA Personal Protection instructor. Too bad none of that counts for anything. At least they have no gun crime in Mass.

That's about right! Of course, being from the Peoples Republic and spending a lot of time in the Vacation State, I've become use to supporting dead beats!

We run into problems like that a lot here. There is no law which prohibits a dealer from selling ammo to an out of state resident so long as they comply with the laws of their state. What happens a lot is that the laws are so convoluted that the dealers over interpret them. Usually on the side of caution. I can't say as I blame them but lots of times they end up just making it harder than it really is for us to buy and sell stuff.

I have not been to KTP recently, but during the last 22 crises (4 -5 years ago) when I couldn't get any 22's locally, I had stopped into KTP while visiting my daughter in NH (over the bridge). They were LOADED to the gills with gazillions of 22's and no limits. At the time I believe I purchased 20 Bricks which are all just about gone now. It's a shame that I didn't get more as it was Federal #510 Blue Box Bricks at $22.00 each!
