Did S&W fix mad drop on new pistols?

? Did S&W fix mag drop issues on new pistols .

I had a full size .40 that would drop mags while shooting.
S&W sent me a new mag release ? I sold gun .
Went with other brand .

Last week I got a full size 9mm & a 9 mm shield .
Both 2014 models I think .Guns are one week old .
2014 date on spent cartridge the came with gun's .

Mine work fine. My FS and compact are 2013. My Shield is 2014. All 9mm.

That was an issue on older FS 40cal. The issue has since been fixed to my knowledge on newer models.

I purchased a used m&p 9c that had the mag drop issue cheap, $300.00, and replaced the mag release button right away. I'm guessing that I put about a thousand problem free rounds thru it since without an issue so really it's a cheap and easy fix. Nonissue in my book.

I have not seen a post about current mag drop problems for quite a long time, and I have never experienced it.

Do your new guns have a problem?

I saw many M&P's in both 9mm and .40 run through our local steel challenge matches all last spring, summer, and fall. Not one issue with a mag being dropped. I saw one where the based pad feel off and basically came apart on a 9L but the mag never feel, just all the guts came out. The shooter admitted that this mag had hit the pavement more than once and he had tried to fix it previously.

I have not shot them yet . The .40 I had a few years back did.
I will go to the range next week.

Oct '13 build FS9 here, 2,200+ rounds so far.

No unintentional mag drops here.
