Model 46 .22lr....value?

It's funny how we can perceive things. My observation is very odd, very odd indeed, both the Model 46 and Model 41-1 appear more often than older model 41's, and my collection growth illustrates this. I do hope the trend continues.
Actually, a quick check on GB now there are 6 model 46's and 3 older Model 41's, how about that?

Maine - the home of the 41.

I will stick my neck out here and confidently say my opinion, the model 39, model 41, model 41-1, Model 46 and the model 52 were all in separate batches with separate batches of serial numbers allocated. I have no doubt at all.
There are a few exceptions and a few reasons for the exceptions, however the guns involved are also very few in number.

Can you provide some supporting documentation for this or is it based on empirical data or ??

Thanks,
Kevin Williams

kwill1911, do you have any supporting documents or theory in disagreement? My limited data agrees with Aussie except for the 41-1 which I believe were assembled in batches but not necessarily in frame batches, but in the final assembly. Also 46s may have been from sub batches of 41s partially thru the frame finishing process. Obviously Mr. Jinks could clear a lot of this up and point out our errors of judgment.

No, I don't. My data set is pretty limited as I only track U.S. shipped guns. Also, I focus more on the Model 39 and its variants than the Models 41 and 46.

I think all models including the 46 and 41-1 are in separate serial number batches, with very few exceptions.

I should have said no other supporting evidence.
While looking at 41 threads yesterday I did however found a model 41 listed on this site that I believed had a model 46 serial number, PM the owner, reply, listed the wrong number. Fluke, luck, chance in a million, confirmation, who knows…

perfectcircle - Google Herritt or look thru pictures of 41s and 46s on S-WForum
