Yes they will as I talked to them today and they are sending me a new T5 torx driver and a set of lock screws. No charge.
M&P9L CORE with Deltapoint Reflex / Setscrew issue

I too have the Deltapoint and CORE adjustment screw problem. I contacted both Leupold and Smith&Wesson. Each referred me back to the other, not their problem! I would purchase a modified tool from either of them if it was offered. I did ask for an extra wrench from Leupold, so far I haven't heard back. Customer service really dropped the ball on this problem from both companies.

Sorry to here that , got my new wrench and screws from Leupold a while ago. That was from the canadian dealer . When i talked to leupold in US they wanted 15.00 shipping but they were still going to ship them to me no problem. I would call them back !

Tomcat, had a similar experience but it sounded like Leupold was working on this problem (which makes sense since they stand to be the company that will loose out in the end). They will definitely send you at least one extra wrench for free at no charge. The gentleman that I spoke with looked at his pricing sheet and noted that it was listed as "free".

. You can go the long way if you don't know anyone with a propane torch or don't care to purchase one at one of the big box stores for around $15 ( Shop BernzOmatic 14.1 oz Multi-Use Torch Cylinder at Lowes.com ).

- Loosen the set screws in the back of the Deltapoint
- Mount the sight on your core pistol
- Use a laser bore sight to zero the Deltapoint. - Remove the Deltapoint from your pistol
- Tighten the set screws on the Deltapoint
- Mount the Deltapoint on your pistol and put a few rounds down range
- Repeat process as needed
Thanks for the advice FSUDAL and Chevy 4240. Leupold is going to send me a new T-5 tool to have modified. I used a Leupold Zero Point Bore Sight to setup my Deltapoint with the set screws loosened. I then remounted it with set screws still loose. I plan to go to the range next week and see how it does. I hope it will hold the zero setting while I again remove it and tighten the set screws.
Deltapoint T-5 wrench
I received my new T-5 wrench from Leupold today. I took it to my local muffler shop and he applied some heat and put a new 90 degree bend in both of my wrench's. They now work fine and fit precisely in the opening. I hope the tool image displays correctly.

i had the same problem, but here is what worked:
the sight co witnesses with the irons, so just zero the dot to where it is hidden under the front iron, it barely goes off the screen of the dp but you can get it very close. once you are this close remove dp and tighten lock screws.
when you are re-installing the dp just align the now locked dot with the sights before torquing down the two main top mounting screws. if you mount it and its off try removing and remounting. this will at least give you hits in the red triangle, but not ideal to try and sight it to the tip of the triangle.
(Basically it's a half measure solution)
i tried the torch and screwdriver method and ended up making the darn thing so brittle the tip just broke off. i agree leupold is the best one in line to fix this by changing what torx wrenches are included with the sight.
also no spring will come out if you remove the rear sight on the core, that spring is secured under the rds mounting point.
on the original m&p's that spring(for the striker block) WAS retained by the rear sight and was a pita, now it has a nice t5 torx screw retained cover and a nub to hold the spring in place under it, a good engineering fix on smith's part as that thing was a pita to work with before and now it's easy as pie.

hey quick question: (i hope i am explaining this correctly)
the two rearward setscrews. if you removed them both, the left pinhole has a pin-rod inside. it looks like the setscrew pushes up against it. but my right setscrew hole doesnt have the same brass pinrod inside the hole. can anyone verify with their unit as well?

13mm on the short arm still looks too long from my measurements, it'd need to be 7/16" (11mm) at the most. Anyone find another online that'll work without doing the torch method?

I'm new to this party ... just got my M&P9 with Deltapoint last night. Was soooo irritated with the location of adjustment set screws. Took advice from this forum to bend the tool. I slowly heated, bent, heated, bent, etc. I really, really took my time and retained the torx end in a vice but making sure I was holding the diameter, not the torx head. Not the prettiest but it works perfectly

I think everyone overthinks this. All you need to do is take the DP off the pistol (2 screws), leave the lock screws in the back loose, reattach the sight (2 screws), zero the sight, remove the sight (2 screws) tighten the lock screws, reattach the sight (2 screws), you're done. Total time (excluding zeroing), maybe a minute. How much time have you devoted to modifying torx wrenches? I set the zero on my Deltapoint over a year ago and it hasn't moved. (I use it 4-5 times a week in season and 3 times a week off season). I was initially upset about the torx screw location, but after I thought about how the sight is registered to the machining on the pistol, there isn't much of a possibility of moving the zero by taking the sight on and off the pistol, in this past year I've done that probably 8-10 times for various reasons and when I put the sight back on, the zero hasn't changed.

I am still waiting for my DP to arrive. I wil install the dp to my M&P 9mm and zero it following your procedure. Thanks for sharing this Bkreutz

Same problem here.
did install the Leupold DeltaPoint on mine M&P9L and that sight was also in the way.
Did untight the screws - adjusting - removing again deltapoint from pistol - fasten the 2 screws - mounting again - test gun again on 25M - Did work for me! not a nice way todo, but it works also!

Yes it is kind of a fire drill, but..... I only had to do it once, a year later (and around 50K rounds) and it's still dead on.
