What scope or red dot are you using?

Picked up my 15-22 a few weeks ago and have been researching scopes for it since then. I didn't want to spend too much for a 22, but I didn't want to buy and cry either. Friday me a bud hit the 100yd range. I hit the target with Iron sites but all over the place. After shooting three mags in his gun with a scope I was dead on bulleye. I saw his scope online before, but thought it must be inferior bc of the price. Goes to show if you can get it in your hands and use it, It will be easier to make an informed decision. Just ordered it online. Some of my reasons I purchased it.
1) I could see target clearly at 100 yds.
2) It is sturdy
3) Cool factor, 7-8 " looks more tactical than a 12 plus " Hunting looking scope.
4) The fact that I had access to and used the scope.
5) Price.

On my 15-22 I put a UTG red and green dot sight. No magnification, but it's just mainly a .22 plinker. Works perfectly for my purposes. I cost me about forty dollars and has been worth every cent. I put another one on an ar15 in .223 but found it unsatisfactory due to the lack of magnification.

Something I've been wondering about. Does the green dot haze less than a red one, or just net lore?

I checked Brownells website but, couldn't find the dot size on the Burris? I really like the earilier one posted if for nothing else the 1" dot size.

Keith - I'd already seen the Spitfire 3x and it looks like an excellent piece of kit but with me already have a 2x red dot I wanted more of a magnification upgrade to a 5x (or 4x as it looks as if I'll have to settle for).

Keith - I went on the 100m range with my Dad yesterday and had an epiphany... Without some serious magnifcation I won't even be able to see where I'm putting the holes but if I go for that magnifcation it'll make it cumbersome on the indoor range where I am 90% of the time... So, I've gone for 4x prismatic scope, from the UK and if I don't like it for any reason I've decided I'm returning it and going for the Vortex 3x... Looks like a great piece of kit and a fine balance between clear sighting and blotting out the rest of the world (and doesn't that detract from the purpose of such a semi-auto?)

going to be hitting a 2p coin way out there.But as you may be

already aware our rifles are special batched for better accuracy

Orange County Gun Club, CA... Saw it, noticed it had 20% off and then worked out it would be criminally cheap in £s.

Also, just been on range with my 2x red dot for first time in a fortnight... Already thinking of returning the 4x and it hasn't arrived yet!

I got an ACOG TA01 4X32
Gives about an inch inch an a half eye relief. Works great out long or up short.

I have a generic eBay 2x red dot... Cheap and cheerful, but I think it suits the rifle well and it's working great given the price.

I'd gladly spend more on a nice scope and it'd be fantastic to see what kind of groups I could get out of it but I don't think I've seen one with the same kind of "tactical" appearance, does anyone know of any? Relatively short bodied, maybe with rails?

... I deeply apologise for being a poser, I just love the way it looks right now

What flip-up sights are you using. Just purchased a TRS-32 Bushnell for my week old rifle and need to replace the stock sights.

Just wondering if you guy pay any attention to the specs on weight for these red dot scopes?
IMO the 15-22 is an ultralight 22
So why would you put a scope or red dot/laser on it that is half or more the weight of the rifle?
I have bought junk chinese sights and they were 1.5+lb plus didnt last.
Guess thats why some of us drop $500+ on sights.

Weight can reflect cheap, or weight can reflect design ruggedness. Nightforce are among the heaviest scopes.

Yes weight isnt great if your shooting offhand. Love the trs25 and ultralight leupold scopes. However if you bench rest shoot. Who cares about weight.
Imo though, a 15-22 isnt a bench gun. Buy a bolt action if your bench shooting.
I had a 10x50 S3 sightron on my btvs. I wouldnt want to guess the total weight of the 15-22 w/ an S3 10x50!
The btvs was 14lbs with scope and bipod.

I have a Vortex Strikefire on the 15-22 rifle and a Phantom Tactical reflex sight i got from a gun show on the 15-22 pistol. Both sights have held zero. No issues with either. For the money both have been excellent additions to my firearms.

In for my review. Took the Walther/Umarex out yesterday for the first time. Mounted it between the two picatinny rails. First shot, right on target. Thought it may have been a fluke... 6 magazines later, every shot was right where you wanted it. Not the cheapest red dot, but for around $60, definitely a good choice for me. Will probably bench it at some point and fine tune it. But for free standing, shooting bottles in the backyard, not bad at all

Weaver Super Slam 1.5x6 w/PEPR on a suppressed Spike, ran this for a long time as my main coyote gun, just got too heavy so i swapped the Weaver to the 15-22 and the EO setup to the Spike.

that sux!!!! ethically, i would not use anything smaller than a .223/5.56 on a dog (coyote) but i've shot a few that have .22 and .17 rounds lodged in them and they were still viable furs. we have a bunch of yahoos out here that try to take them with .22's and w/o a perfect shot placement in the apricot, they will usually run off just wounded. i kill them for the farmers and ranchers out here in AZ. they love to eat lettuce!!! have over 10,000 acres of private land that i have permission to hunt as well as BLM/State Trust land, there are plenty of opportunities. bobcats, mountain lion, fox, etc are all pretty plentiful in the 'winter'! shoot dogs and lions all year, bobs and fox have a season. $2200 on furs last year, this year sucked there were no buyers hardly at all.
