Howdy,

I am currently testing 23 types of ammo for accuracy and slide fire capatability through my rifle. I want to test 29 different rounds that I feel will meet my demands. I will probably end up with a variety of options such as the cheapest mag dump ammo, most accurate bulk ammo and most accurate overal hunting ammo.

Here are the ammos I already have and either have tested or plan to test.
Aguila Interceptor
Aguila Super Extra
Armscore Precision
CCI Mini Mag "HP"
CCI Mini Mag "RN"
CCI Segmented "Quick Shock"
CCI S.G.B.
CCI Shot Shell
CCI Standard Velocity
CCI Stinger
CCI Tactical
Federal American Eagle
Federal Auto Match
Federal Champion
Federal Gold Medal Match
Norma USA TAC .22
Remington Thunderbolt
Remington Golden Bullet
Remington Viper
RWS Geco .22lr Semi Auto
Winchester 222/333/555
Winchester Super X "High Veocity"
Winchester Super X "High Veocity"

Aguila Interceptor is leading the pack at the moment but there is still alot of testing to be done.

I have a spread sheet that covers cost, FPE, FPS, Grains, Bullet Design, Grouping @ 35, 50, 75 & 100 yards. I also dump 50rds through the slide fire with my scope etc attached.

What I need from you guys is help aquiring the last six ammos I want to test.

I still need the following ammos.
CCI Blazer
CCI Velocitor
remington cyclone
federal Hollow Point Champion
wincheser m22
Remington Yellow Jacket

Im looking for 100 rounds of each of the above ammos. Im willing to pay for ammo plus shipping or maybe we can work out a trade for some of the ammo I already have. Between the 23 types I aready have I have about 5500 rounds on hand. I can even make a variety set so you can test several different ammos in your gun.

Thanks in advance,

F.Y.I. If there is an overwhelming response I will probably do each deal slowly one at a time. This is not a sales thread Im not trying to quickly get ammo or trade ammo Im trying to get scientific data that will help me in the future. That is my main goal.

Thanks,
Alex R.

I have some Velocitors, M-22 and Aguila Super Maximum (which wasn't on your list). PM me if you want to make a trade to Commiefornia. I think I might have some Rem Cyclones too but I'm not at home to check right now.

Seriously? the little rat shot cartridges in a semi-auto?

They are useless over 20 feet and/or from anything more than a pistol barrel.

Ha obviusly you havent shot these at 100 yards. Im on paper almost every time.

Yes the manual states not to. Know why? Its simply becouse they dont have enough umf to feed the next round. If you load it one at a time it works fine. Very interesting round that I wanted to play with. To each their own.

"Just a question - if you can't easily hold of those six why would you want to test them knowing that they're not then readily available for you to buy? "

Well that is a valid point and im sure there will be a commonly found cheap round that will probably be my plinking round but my utimate goal is to find the very most accurate round possible no matter how hard it is to get ahold of. I do this with all my guns including my pelet rifle and although it generaly takes a looooonnnnggggg time to gather all the rounds and do your testing the pay off is HUGE. It can improve the accuracy of a firearm to near sniper level perportions.

Also becouse I dont have them doesnt always mean they werent available. I can only sneak so many boxes of ammo into the house without the little lady getting wise. Im starting to run out of places to hide it all....

And yes, the Shot shell is for snakes at close range. Dont worry PETA only the realy icky ones...

You are either joking or have no idea what ammo you are talking about.

The little shot shells (and that's being generous) have about three dozen little shot that will give an almost three foot spread at 15 feet out of a pistol. They will not even reach 50, much less 100 yards. And yes, I've shot a few hundred of them killing small rats and small snakes. .22 shorts are a better choice for rats.

Out of a rifle barrel, the little shot is so deformed there is little discernible pattern at just about any distance.

Good way to shoot your credibility in the foot ...

Oh please....
Good thing I could care less what you think of my credibility as it pertains to my test for my needs.... At no point during this post or any post realy have I been trying to gain credibility so that you would approve of me and my internet postings. Dont be so full hardy to think everyone cares what you think.

I Wrote it becouse you were being silly. The others that posted were atleast polite about their questionings. I figured the grose overstatment/poorly placed joke was enough to hush the banter but appearently not.

Obviusly the CCI Shot shell round is inacurate past 5 yards. Its funny that out of all my first post you found the one thing you could nit pick about. The reason the Shot Shell is listed is becouse I also track my stock pile so the shot shell is listed so I can easily check how many I have on hand and so I can have velocity etc available if and when I should need it. I like to be thorough.

Credibility, your funny. LOL I guess you never thought that by staying on this obviusly ignorant topic and threatening others with said lost credibility you may have very well hurt your own? Since credibility is obviusly something your tracking you may want to watch out.

Thank you for giving me the biggest belly laugh I have had in a long time. :D

My credibility on this forum was established long ago and is in no danger from this thread.

How long do you think this test will take ?
How many rounds of each will you be using ?
How long did it take you to collect all those different types ?
I am sure this is just for the fun of it , but if not then why ?
,
I shoot so much paper with my hand guns that I've got to where I hate shooting paper with my 22 anything I mean any thing but paper.
,
I have done a little test of my own you know.
My test was to see if I could keep shooting 22 without resorting to breaking my commitment to myself not to buy any on line.
The results were I did keep my commitment ' so far ' but I was not able to just keep shooting , I have though been able to keep enough to take my Grandson shooting any time we get the time.
I am trying my best to collect subsonic just in case I get around to cleaning out my work shop that some how became my wife's storage shed.
,
Anyway looking forward to the results of your test , if you need anyone to test how any of those rounds perform down here in the humid south just let me know I would be glad to help with the shipping :)
