My new 460 Bone Collector-

At any rate here's a 2015 (Febuary-ish) 460 XVR Bone Collector #156 of 1500

Oh my... that's a terrible gun. Very bad fitting parts and horrible trigger. Not to mention the mediocre steel used for the cylinder. You should send it to me, that will save you lots of trouble :D

On a serious note, very nice gun and congrats ;)

^^^A valiant attempt but no seegar, lol! Thank you JJEH. Stick around for updates coming within 9 days or so:) fb

That is a thing of beauty!

Now go get some hard cast 360gr pills with gas checks, some Win 296 powder...and embrace the Dark Side of the Force!

You, Sir have read my mind. Hand loads for this revolver are definitely in my future plans.
The storeboughts, that I have that'll be documented at the range soon, are-
Grizzly 395 gr. 460 S&W
Grizzly 360 gr. 454 Cassul
Cor*Bon Hunter 335 gr. 45 long Colt
Winchester 250 gr. 45 long Colt

I'm looking for some of the 200 gr. 460's at the moment as well.
Thanks for the comment -fb

Fantastic looking .460, CONGRATS !
As was echoed, welcome to the "Hand Cannon" shooters as well as the "Impractical Hand Gunning" group.

The Smith and Wesson 460 Bone Collector with a Nill (18X8 X frame) grip. This is why I've been waiting to shoot this gun (plus I'm finally back home again:) the new 18X8 Nill grips people! Had to have the right grip to blast off with. Hope you enjoy, 'freeze
ps- damned seemless grip btw -fb

Really nicely crafted grip ! Only drawback with solid wood vs. the oem rubber=no additional recoil absorption so hang on tight and feel the pain.. LOL

^^^Geez I don't have any first hand feedback to share yet but... my factory grip was rather small and for me it came down to a matter of control. We shall see which will stay on the gun and which will go back to live in the box:)

I got some bad news folks:( Or good depending how you look at it:)
I'm sending the standard size 18x8 Nill's back in favor of the xl size 18x8xl's. Through emails with Mactec the xl is a tad (only a tad) larger. The Standard size finger grooves are a leeeetle beeeet cramped for me bare handed. Now with a lite glove in cooler weather (or hot loads, lol) there is no possible way the fingers will fit in the grooves comfortably. I tried w/ a super thin leather glove as well and that was tight as hell indeed w/ two fingers slightly overlapping. The xl's grips are only 1/4" longer in length overall and other dimensions are very similar plus some. Online I read that the xl's were hugely bigger- not the case as per Mactec along with their calipers and mine. My hands are rather normal size but maybe on the meaty side. Just a bit. Further info in a couple more weeks as I'm off to work again next week to last a couple weeks longer. But I'll get the best for my hands and then I'll do a proper range report plus maybe a vid.. I'm not even going to bother with the factory grip. The Nills I got in the mail mounted perfectly btw, but alass they went back in today's freight bound for Mactec whom were very understanding. Be cool, freezerburn

P.S. if you order a grip, where different sizes are available, think about the weather you will be firing the gun in and the acceptable handware for the job. And if youlike a glove or not regardless. Then take that into consideration if there is a hand tracing involved in the guesstimation process... Be cool, fb

Got the new replacement 8x18 xl grip and put it on. Perfection. Size is excellent and the grain is waaay darker as I requested both times for the darkest available from Mactec. This one is outstanding. Wednesday morning I'm heading out to a buddy's place in Willow (Alaska) to do some shooting and afterwards to look over a possible moose hunting area (quite a ways farther) for this fall. Taking the pistol and a bunch of bullets (calibers as described somewhere above) and will have a complete report for you folks to gawk at if you like. plus some pics to go with of course.
If anyone has anything specific that they want to know just post it here before Wed morn my time and I will give it my attention and apply what I can. As I've mentioned before, I have learned a lot here and I'm more than happy to try to return the favor. fb

I've got the complete range report folks and just need the time to compile it for the best viewing. Should be around 5 video links to YouTube one complete. Just need more time:)

Fired one of them last fall at my Gunclub with home made loads and then a factory load. The factory load lifted me around 2" off of the ground when I let go with it at the end of the string. Only weighed about 134lbs at the time but what a Blast. Got a perfect ten also with the factory load at 75 feet as well. Luck was all I suspect. Veru nice toy to have.
