I have 10-5 on 10 day waiting period. The gun is beautiful I would say 98%. The problem is it has mother of pearl grips. Although many like them I find them ugly. However I like the shape of them.
Attached is a picture I found on the Internet. Does anyone know where I can find this style grips? Medallions are not necessary but i would like them.

The style shown in your picture was used from 1911 until about early 1920 (officially terminated in 1919). So they would not be appropriate for a Model 10-5.
Here's a picture of the style you want for your Model 10-5:

Moreover, buying a pair like this on eBay or Gun Broker or some other Internet site will be a lot cheaper than getting a pair of the gold recessed medallion type from the teens!

Thanks dude!!! That would work perfectly. Is there any places online that make them new?

There are some replicas being made somewhere in Asia (I forget where exactly at the moment), but I would recommend against them. They never look quite right to me, and who knows what sort of wood they use.
It is so easy to find correct S&W walnut Modified Magna (also called PC Magna) stocks in excellent condition that, to me, there is no sense in spending an equal amount (or more) to buy reproductions. Just start cruising eBay and you will find what you need within a few days. And buying them won't break your bank account.

The Modified Magna stocks look like this on the bottom:

The bottoms are not squared off, as on the Magna stocks usually issued on target sight guns of the period.

There are many K/L frame stocks/grips on Ebay. (used) Prices have been going up compared to a few years ago. That being said, I still have bought 6-10 sets there. Just read well, and be critical of pics. Ask seller questions if in doubt. Good luck on your hunt! Bob

Altamonts

The Altamont's are a nice grip and I own a few pair but one thing to keep in mind is that they have a certain newness to their appearance due to the high gloss finish. Just my opinion but I wish they would tone it town to a softer satin finish so they don't detract from an older style revolvers. Their laminated grips do fit well especially the type with the internal studs and are apt to last a long time with minimal care. Here is a pair where I think my point is well evident, these are temporary due to what I mentioned about their look of being to new to the revolver. Fit and feel is still very nice on this pair. I prefer their rosewood diamond wood best. You get what you pay for and usually good customer service with Altamont's

If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about getting a model 10-5 in California, since it's not on the roster? Did you get it through PPT? I've been wanting a model 10 for a while but it appears tough to get here
