Whch pens do you carry?

I don't. In the truck, office, kitchen but not my pockets.

My father ALWAYS had a pen. If you went out to a restaurant with dad you could count on him using at least one paper napkin to illustrate what he was explaining.

My fountain pen is a Parker 51 Flighter, with a stub nib, and matching pencil. I also have a 1928 Duofold "Big Red" in the same leather pen case. Love the stub nib, and the softness of the Duofold nib.

I also carry an "El Cheapo" nondescript ball point.

I used to carry a Mont Blanc Boheme fountain pen. You ould twist it to get the nib out. I was able to get the cartridges for it at Macys.

It is long gone now.

I get pens in bags at Walgreens when on sale.

Back tactical and with rails incase I need to mount a small light to write in the dark! [emoji15] [emoji12] [emoji38]

I have a few laying in my car. Most are free from banks (financial institutions). I don't carry pens since even the ones in my car get use maybe once every few years

Mostly I carry 0.7mm mechanical pencils (usually Pentel). My favorite pen is the Pentel 0.7mm EnerGel roller. Cheap, dependable and l don't mind when I break or loose them. I tend to use blue ink (especially when I sign an original document or check).

Like nice clothes, nice pens just get ruined in my business.

The Cajunlawyer reminds me of similar incidents in my life. I used to enjoy carrying a cartridge pen every day, even though my handwriting has never merited a decent pen. Very few people know how to write with a cartridge or fountain pen without damaging it, yet no one is ever shy about asking to borrow your pen. After having a series of them destroyed by ham-handed morons, I gave up carrying good pens and have since used Pilot Precise V7 rolling ball pens. They work well enough - usually. Quality is a bit erratic but I rarely get one that cannot be used. No cleaning necessary. When they run out of ink, you throw them away. I never liked the usual Cross pens. Too slim for my hand.

I have a Pentel Client which uses a Parker refill and a Cross and I also carry a Pilot VBALL grip extra fine that I like. The pilot used to be carried by Staples but they discontinued them and I had to order my last ones from some place in Calif. I really liked a pen that was given to me by the man that signed me up for my last propane Co. but, they were made specifically for Office Depot and I can't find them now.

My quill goose Edgar, who carries a bottle of Ink around his neck, follows me everywhere I go.
I just yank out a quill, pull out my pen knife and Then write away.

Now that's something I'd love to see!

I study a subject and then act. I studied writing pens, determined the toughest best utilitarian pen made in the U.S.A. and like others on here, I chose the Fisher Space Pen. Made in Nevada, and made of metal, not plastic. Will write underwater, on oily surfaces and at 20 below zero. It is the pre 64 model 94 Winchester of the ball point pen world.

I was a parts guy for so long that I feel naked without a pen in my shirt pocket. The pen? Why, a S&W pen(of course!) available on the S&W site. I like the way they write & I like the way they look. I haven't run into someone else using one so it's easy to keep track of.

If you are stuck in a work environment were a pocket knife etc are prohibited, you might want to look into a Zebra Pen. Besides being a great pen, they have a stainless steel barrel and tip. If ever needed as a last ditch you have something solid to work with.

I carry the "Rite In The Rain" black pens, Parker Space Pen insert is the only thing I can count on writing in a wet environment. I work as a Commercial Diver. I'm looking for a more "tactical" pen basically a heavy pen that will use Space Cartridges.

I always have a pen on me and won't buy a shirt unless it has a pocket. For years I have carried a Monte Blanc that was a gift to me. My career in ministry and education made writing an everyday need.

I dabbled in fountain pens and love them, but I learned why the ballpoint won out in the end. You just can't use a fountain pen daily without getting ink on your fingers/clothes/desk/etc. I did manage to learn to decline handing a nice fountain pen to someone as a loaner. If you can't carry a ballpoint in addition for a loaner, you must learn to decline in a polite way. "Sorry, this pen might get ink on you."

I use G2 gel pens and have for years. Since discovering these gel pens I can't stand standard ball point pens.

I liked those for a while but they won't write on wet or damp surfaces and the ink wipes off if it's wet on anything besides checks and plain paper.

I would take one over a regular ballpoint pen any day.

Usually a Pelikan, occasionally a Parker. I have a few in the rotation. I like to play around with different ink colors.

I carried Cross pens for over 40 years and still have some, but like billwill said above the Zebra ballpoint works good and is pretty good quality. I carry the Zebra F-301 fine point in black ink. They write on most anything, even the glazed type paper receipts that are so slick to write on and they cost hardly nothing. I know I don't write as much as some of you guys but these work for me and I carry a pen always.

Used to carry Bic stick pens (remember the dyamite ball ads of 1959?) when working in bad environments, but grew tired of the dance: cap off and on all day. Went to a Parker Jotter 25 years ago. Our union would give us a Parker with the union logo every Christmas, so I have a supply. Almost forgot, always black ink, a habit picked up as a notary.

Hard to find fine-point pens (for me, anyway). Fine point handy to fill out forms and crosswords. I guard my Bic round stic fine (black ink) with my life. ...the real reason I have a CCW. :D

I still have a Parker pen/pencil set that used the liquid ink in the little plastic tube but it is no longer made, that I know of.

The old suck the ink up pens are quality made but you need to
find a bottle if ink !!

Ball point pens in 4-6 packs are nice........
mostly if you can find a style and shape that fits your hand.

However I still enjoy a fine point lead pencil that takes 0.5mm B, 60mm, lead refills, even though they don't lass to long.
