Grip recommendation for 4 inch model 19-3 for edc

Dear Forum
I edc a 4 inch model 28 in a shoulder holster. On days i wont be wearing a suit I would like to carry my 4 inch model 19-3 in
A seude iwb holster. Had the 19 since the 70's and has one
Of the smoothest actions on any revolver I have encountered.
Not as smooth as the python Fred Sadowski showed me in
Denver years ago but very smooth. My load will be the heavy
158 grain buffalo bore 38sp + p
Currently I have pachmayr gripper grips on it I have used
It mostly for idpa shooting with standard load 38 sp rounds.
Shoots real smooth with very little recoil.
What I need reccomendations on are a new set of recoil absrorbing grips that are not as bulky as the gripper.
Something without a lot of width that will help me control
Recoil and allow easier concealment. I have medium size hands
And some grips are too wide to be comfortable.
I want a practicle conceable set up so if anyone has a system
That works well for them please share it.

Since you already like Grippers, the Pachmayr Compacs or Compac Pros are the way to go.

I had the Pachmayr Compacs on my model and really liked the way that they felt but I replaced them with a pair of factory round butt targets. Hard to find but similar in size and shape to the Compacs and, to me, just as comfortable.

PC Magna stocks with a Tyler-T grip fits me like a glove - and I usually wear a size M to L glove depending on the make. The rounded PC Magnas won't print through clothing as readily, and do not catch on clothing like rubber can sometimes. No recoil absorbtion in this combination, but that does not seem to be a factor.

Great grips but IIRC I think these are in round-butt only......... a 4" 19-3 is sq butt (+ 98% of the time)

Craig Spegel makes his boot grips for the K-frame square butt. I prefer wood over rubber for concealed carry as it doesn't catch on clothes, and I doubt I'll be firing more than 18 rounds. I have them on a 4" 66-1 I sometimes use for cc.

I had not thought of that. My model 66-1 is a 2 1/2" round butt, that is why I recommended the round butt Targets. Won't fit well on a square butt frame...

They are great grips I run a set of the Compacts (enclosed back-strap) on my round butt 686 for extended range sessions........or rough carry.

The Professional Compacts ( open back strap) were my first aftermarket grips for my 3" 65.......like shortened factory banana/target grips.

The square butt counterpart to the Pach Compacts is the SB Pach Presentation grip. Rubber, covers backstrap, no finger grooves. However they suck for concealment, and are rather thick. Bear with me here, but maybe a set of VZ's? Have a set of the SB N frame grips in the 320S smooth pattern and they feel great. They are thin in profile and just grippy enough without catching on clothes or "picking" my undershirts. I was skeptical, but in the end impressed. Magnas and a T grip are your best bet for concealment.

I missed that too. There are Gripper Pros that are almost as small as the Compacs.

My EDC is a 79' vintage Model 64-3 4", it sports the Uncle Mike's hard rubber version of the Speigel SB Boot grip. It conceals and shoots fine, my current EDC load is the Speer +p 135 Grain Gold-Dot. FWIW, I have also shot the FBI load with the same set-up and it was also very comfortable & controllable. I usually EDC in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake at about 4 o'clock, sometimes in a belly band at the same location.

Thank you for all of your recommendations. I have ordered
A set of pachmayr professional gripper for square frame
These are advertised as not covering the back strap allowing
The finger to get closer to the trigger and are also supposed to
Be 10% smaller than the gripper which does cover the back strap
Also shorter some what. I will report back after I get them
And try them out. I really like the beautiful wood grips
That are available but the rubber ones are more comfortable
To use. I plan to try IDPA with them and see how comfortable
I think they are after a 100 rounds or so.
