Saw one for sale today for $375. I kind of like the 2 tone, I guess the barrel and cylinder are stainless?
Is the price reasonable?

yeah I know the lock...

I see no mention of a 437 in SCSW. I checked my 2010 catalog and see a 438 and 442, so I have some vague idea of what you saw. Can you please be more specific? Thanks.

Now that's fancy! Found the replacement for the LCR in my carry rotation. Thanks for sharing, and time to find one in my neck of the woods

Thanks for the photo. It seems at first glance o be a blued/blackened frame version of the 637, similar to the 438 and 442 I mentioned above. Is the cylinder stainless and is it new or used? If new, $375 is a good price IMO. Used, all depends on condition. Last question, does the 437 monicker appear on the crane cutout on the frame?

Yes, the frame is stamped "437". It looks like a 637 with a 442 frame but, without the "Airweight" writing on the side.
Not really a 442 since it has a hammer.

Were you able to see the serial number?

If it comes with the box, would really like to know the sku/product code, and feature codes (if any). A picture of the end label would do it all.

Other than the NRA magazine, I don't read gun mags much anymore, so I could of missed it. But in the past when S&W came out with an entirely new model there would be some kind of media effort. Even if it's was just a tiny blurb on page 27.

This one.... nothing.

I have a model 437. If any of you guys have any confirmed information about it it would be greatly appreciated. I bought it about 4 years ago. It's been carried and mainly a safe queen tho. It's a very accurate lil snubby. I'd an armslist listing that said that the cylinder and barrel are titanium but I cannot confirm that. My 1st post here so thanks in advance guys

Here is the pic of the sku#

Thanks. That's the key that unlocks the door. These guns were for the distributor Ellett Brothers, LLC, in Chapin, South Carolina. Sku (product code) 150674. A sku that begins with "15" is almost always a limited run for one particular distributor, and not something for national distribution. I think they were originally offered in the 2008 - 2009 time frame.

If I had to guess I'd say fewer than 1,000 were made. If there were more, we would be seeing them more often.

They are especially interesting to me because they are what aficionados call "Pintos". Blue/silver contrasting frame, barrel, and cylinder. Doubly cool. Aluminum alloy "Airweight" frame, stainless steel barrel and cylinder. Some guys specialize in collecting Pinto guns. Pinto guns are a tradition that goes way, way, back in S&W (and Colt) history. Of course, back in the day the silver was nickel.

Here's a link to the Ellett Bros catalog....

Thank you so much Kernel! It's good to know something about it. Like I said earlier, I've found no confirmed information about it. There was one listing in FL saying it was a titanium barrel and cylinder. It's a great lil shooter and even more satisfying to know there are very few of them even know its not that valuable if a piece. I would like to know exactly how many of them were produced. I've considered calling S&W but looks like they want $ for any info. Typical corporate response there... Anyway, I really appreciate your time and help Kernel and even more so I appreciate your service.

So I contacted Ellett Bros...
The lady I spoke to was not very nice at all. Rather rude about it. She said she couldn't give any information about a particular serial numbered gun except to the dealer that bought it and blah blah blah. I told her I didn't want that. I wanted general information about that model. But she wasn't listening.... Anyways I've got a friend that just opened a gun shop. I'm going to see if he can get a lil info about it

THAT'S the right way to deal with a customer, isn't it? Maybe the person on your end of the phone wanted to place an order for 50 handguns... Oh well, you've got a nice gun. Don't lose too much sleep over it.

Just got an e-mail ad from S&W which lists the 437 among others at various locations starting Fri Sept 4. I wish one of the locations was near me I'd buy one.

List of events:
Hometown Game Day Blitz - Smith & Wesson

Bud's has a 437 listed but the picture looks like a 438, suspect a misprint.
