Sorry to hear that.
Long before he went down the LE trail, he went down Route 66 in a Corvette.
One time I watched them film an episode in Hernando, MS. Hey - that's only a few hundred miles off RT 66!
And I did speak briefly with Martin Milner and found him to be a very nice guy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053534/
He had a pretty good career trajectory, even before Route 66 and Adam 12.
Mister Robers, with Henry Fonda, Jack Lemon.
Operation Pacific with John Wayne, Patricial Neal, and Ward Bond.
Halls of Montezuma with Jack Webb, Richard Widmark, and Robert Wagner.
He did many guest spots on shows after Adam 12.
I'd say who can forget "Nashville Beat", but few enough remember it as is.
I always admired Martin Milner, both as an actor and as a man. Never heard anything bad about him; always seemed straight-arrow in his personal life. Evidently a genuine good guy.
Loved his work... Route 66 and Adam-12 and a host of other acting work. I can't picture Marty as old at 83. I always will remember him as Officer Pete Malloy. He sure was the poster boy for the every day Police Officer. I know more than a few officer's who said he made the first impression to them becoming a Police Officer.
It hurts to read of the passing of actors/performers with whom we spent our childhood, in a manner of speaking. No one has answered, was Mr. Milner Tod or Buzz?
I remember him in a Twilight Zone episode from about 1960 where he saw a duplicate of himself while waiting in a bus station. In the end, he's running, trying to catch himself. Spooky, to say the least.
I remember reading he had been ill for a considerable period of time. We miss you already, Mr. Milner.
A few years back I re-watched every episode on Netflix. I used to watch them back in the day, but did not see every episode. Glad I did before they were discontinued on Netflix. One of the best "Cop Shows" on TV at that time.
