Price Check Model 65-5

I've got a small track on the model:

Smith & Wesson 65 3 inch barrel. Revolver in .357 Mag. Blue Book of Gun Values (35th Edition) indicates between $400 in 95% condition and $475 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 18 recorded prices for this model gun from $458 to $740 over a period of 3 Yrs 7 Mos ending May 29, 2015. The average price as of that date was $593. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. All represented as 95% or better. No distinction for engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $563.

The last 10 prices I have for this model since 12/22/2013 range from $465 to $785 averaging $607. The average used price seems to be increasing. Surprise?

That's a pretty broad range but appreciate the data. Seems like our used-gun market is a little crazy right now, but then again, asking price in the ad can always be quite different than the final price accepted for sale.

Thanks. Small sample, too. Not enough to really fill out a good average.

Price check Mod 65-5

govt 380, Thank you Sir. I did my homework when searching gunbroker, for a model 65. Of the 412 auctions completed, only 32, mod 65's, actually sold. The prices ranged from a low of $450 (65-3) to a high of $1095 (65-5 LS) The average price was $683.83 My point to vospertw was to be patient and search for the good deals that are out there. Unfortunately it seems CA residents are limited. I did not pay attention to the date range of the sales, but I believe it covers a 90 day period. I base that on the fact, that 90 days, is the max history stored on guns I have watched, bid on, or purchased, on gunbroker.
