Hello Smith and Wesson Community. I'm Dash4+, but you can just call me Dash
I'm brand spankin' new to the forums and I just wanted to share my excitement of buying my first S&W and Revolver ever. I'm going to pick the gun up tomorrow on Tuesday 9/15/15. The guns is a rather hard find and the story of how it ended up at the gun shop I got it from was kinda interesting too.
I'll start with the model. It's a 686 Plus (7 shot) .357 mag with a 6 inch barrel. I opened up the cylinder and looked at the frame and it says 686-4. From what I understand, a 686-4+ was only made from 1996 to 1997 which makes it a "Hard find" or so to speak. Anyways, I paid $690 after tax, background check and 3% with cc. It comes with the original case with paper work and label on the butt end of the blue case. I don't know if I over payed or not but when I saw it I had to have it XD
Apparently, the original owner of the gun was a gunsmith himself and he did a rather mean trigger job to it. The single action is very ticklish and the double action is very smooth. Better than stock action. From what the salesman at the shop said, the original owner used to shoot competition with it and it was his baby. And I could tell, it's in very good condition. Anyways, as age set in the 686 was too much for him to handle anymore and he went into a retirement home. And his son inherited his guns after he passed away and his son sold this beautiful 686 to the shop that I just recently bought it from.
The smith off to the very left is the EXACT one I bought. I'm picking it up tomorrow XD
And this gun explains my name on here to. I thought it was a good name to start off with my first post in celebration of my first revolver.
